Star Citizen recently announced their new ship designed to compete with other entry-level ships, the MISC Reliant, which is currently on sale for $50 on their website

When I pledged for Star Citizen back in 2012, I didn’t think much of the game, I had some disposable income available and Chris Roberts pitch was good, I expected a good Space Sim but I never expected it to turn into the most ambitious game I’ve ever seen. One of my problems with Star Citizen so far is that they despite having a great variety of ships available, most game packs cost way more than $59, the standard for any Triple A game.

The game started with only one entry-level ship, the Aurora, and later added the Mustang and, but still most of the ships are beyond the price of a regular game or even a deluxe edition game, on the plus side, a great part of the fun will be working hard in order to get those ships in-game.

More options are always welcome

I have nothing against Star Citizen selling destroyer-class ships for $2000 or the people buying them, as far as I’m concerned selling ships has allowed the developers to secure all the funding they need to make a great game. That being said, I’m always glad to see more options added within a reasonable price range, the Reliant not only brings an alternative to the Aurora and Mustang, it’s also the cheapest multi seat ship we’ve seen so far, Ideal for anyone looking to play along with their significant other, a friend, a sibling, etc.

This will allow them to tag along without having to invest heavily in ships like the Freelancer, Gladiator or Cutlass. With a persistent universe launch in 2016 there’s still time for Star Citizen to surprise us with new ships and reveals, and I can’t wait to see what’s next.
