Star Citizen has recently released their tutorial module on patch 1.1.2 and it’s starting to look like a finished AAA game, but still a little rough on some edges.
The crowdfunded superstar Star Citizen has a lot of eyes on it, so far they have raised $80 millions in funding and they don’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. A few months ago they showed a demo of their FPS module and most recently they have released their Tutorial Module.
The tutorial feels pretty nostalgic for anyone that played similar tutorials in games like Descent: Freespace, it feels pretty similar, but with the graphics of a modern gaming PC pushed to the limits and it’s full voiced over, the tutorial covers every aspect of flying a spaceship in start citizen, taking off, landing, manouvering, also combat aspects like shields, weapons, missiles and using countermeasures and some advanced stuff like G-Safe to protect the pilot from G-Force.
Still there are a few glitches here and there, the landing and taking off doesn’t seem as smooth as we would like it to be, and trainer NPC seemed to have been twitching around, but still pretty good considering this is still in Alpha stage. Word is that CIG is preparing to launch their FPS module very soon, which is said to be a mix of Battlefield and ARMA, will it get attention from your typical CoD dudebro? We’ll see.

Disclosure:
I am a backer for SC with one of the basic tiers, I have a humble Aurora LN waiting for me when the game releases :3
