I know, I know…It’s been a very long time since we did a new interview…Well, the long wait is finally over! Because we got a chance to sit down with Zoki from the lewd indie games studio 6thbase.
So we ended-up talking about everything from how 6thbase came to be, Neostesia 2200, Naughty Nyx, lewd game development, to their thoughts on censorship.
So. without further ado, please enjoy our interview with Zoki =)
Robin TGG
I’m just going to start off this interview by saying thank you so much for taking your time doing this interview with us =) Now, with that said, we’ll kick-off the intro of this interview by letting you guys introduce yourself to our readers. So please, go right ahead and do so.
6thBase.com
Thank you, Robin, for your warm welcome and continued support in the realm of adult gaming. As we’ve crossed paths before, allow me to reintroduce myself. I’m Zoki, representing the business sector of our latest gaming studio, the name of which we’ll disclose shortly after.
With team members from around the globe, we weave together a set of different cultures, experiences, and perspectives. Spanning Europe, Asia, and the Americas, our team embodies a wide array of backgrounds and nationalities, nurturing an environment where diversity flourishes.
Robin TGG
On a personal level, I’m quite curious to know more about 6thbase. So, Could you perhaps tell us a bit about how the 6thbase studio came to be? (how, when, where, and why) And what you’re all about?
6thBase.com
Established in 2019, 6th Base is an independent studio based in Prague, dedicated to creating exhilarating games across various genres. Initially, our focus was on aiding game publishers and empowering numerous small, indie studios to realize their game development dreams, which we did through our site www.EroGames.com
Robin TGG
This might be a far shoot depending on how good your memory is + how many years ago it was when you started…But You don’t happen to remember how it all started for you in terms of getting into video games and game development?
6thBase.com
Similar to how all people begin their journey into the gaming world by consuming games and becoming captivated by the immersive experience, my personal path has leaned more toward management than development. Thanks to our publishing experience and the knowledge accumulated from it, a few years ago, it was decided to assemble teams of people who could help us shape our producing ambitions.
Robin TGG
I could be wrong now, but from what I understand, “Neostesia 2200” was your very first commercial lewd game release? Well, how did that game project come to be? And are you happy with how that game turned out in the end? And what has the response and feedback been from the gaming media and gaming community since its release?
6thBase.com
While “Neostesia 2200” technically isn’t our studio’s first launched game, as we’re actively engaged in the development of three larger projects and one smaller AI experimental game, and we had small tests during our publishing days, the game holds a special place as our most significant venture within the R18 or lewd content, as you might prefer to call it.
As a strategic card game, its growth potential and niche audience present challenges in obtaining swift and quantitative feedback. Nonetheless, with solo content spanning several dozens of hours and multiplayer PvP modes, we’re satisfied with the progress we’ve made so far. It’s worth noting, Robin, that as of this interview, the game has yet to be launched on Nutaku.
Robin TGG
And a logical and good follow-up question would of course be for me to ask you about your next lewd game release, “Naughty Nyx”. So, how did that project come to be? What is it all about? And how did it turn out? And what was the response from the players and the game media?
6thBase.com
It’s no secret that match-3 games are among the top performers in the mainstream gaming market. By incorporating a heavily themed approach and featuring a protagonist capable of matching all gems and captivating all female characters, “Naughty Nyx” emerges as a game that offers simplicity in gameplay alongside enjoyable lewd animations and a rich storyline. Currently holds 4 chapters, 25+ interactive sex scenes, 28 girls, hundreds of toys, cards, and levels to play on.
Robin TGG
From what I understand, 6thbase develops games mainly aimed at the PC and mobile market right? Even so, do you have any plans at all to release your games to consoles? If so, what does your game plan look like?
6thBase.com
That is correct, Robin. Our studio aims to prioritize mobile releases. Thanks to technology, the games can be made playable on PC through emulators or cloud solutions. Additionally, online gaming, such as WebGL or native HTML games, is also on the table. The biggest challenge with consoles will be the nature of our adult content, which is often banned in many places.
Robin TGG
What’s your take on censorship, cancel culture, and woke/SJW madness within the games industry in the current year? And what do you think is the best way to handle that kind of stuff as a game developer?
6thBase.com
These topics can be extensively discussed in individual articles rather than in the short interview we’re conducting here. Beginning with the last question, our standpoint on the previous topics will soon become apparent. Game development, people management, balancing mechanisms and features, storytelling, art, game design, and marketing for user acquisition are all crucial and already quite complex focuses for any studio.
Additionally, considering competition and adhering to active rules and regulations, we strive to concentrate on our own work and plans rather than concern ourselves with critics, sensitivities, or mass reactions. Our primary focus is to create a game of which we’ll be proud, and one that players will find appealing to play. We’re too occupied with our own tasks to worry about other matters, a mindset I recommend for other studios to adopt.
Robin TGG
And while on the subject, do you think that it’s about time that people (especially game developers and game publishers) take a stand for creative and artistic freedom within the games industry?
6thBase.com
”Apes together strong” – a humorous meme that illustrates the idea that our strength lies within our unity, particularly evident in group dynamics. Epic Games demonstrated this power by standing up to Apple and Google.
Similarly, the initial backlash against the Sonic the Hedgehog trailer prompted the creators to redo the movie. Just a few days ago, we witnessed the ”Helldivers 2” login backlash, which compelled PlayStation to find a workaround on Steam to satisfy their fans.
It’s worth noting that numerous games rely on third-party logins to function, yet none of us were carrying torches and forks to riot. Highlighting the potential impact of a passionate group of raging individuals might be similar to the social warriors you mentioned earlier, with a more constructive cause.
Robin TGG
And since you just happen to be a lewd game developer, I just happen to have the perfect question for you! So, here we go! Why do you think that so many people and big-name companies in the comic, movie, and video games industry are so afraid of the female form nowadays? Because I sure don’t recall that it was anything like this in the 80s, 90s, or even in the early 2000s…
6thBase.com
I believe the answer lies a few minutes before in this interview, in one of the previous questions. The smaller the team is, the easier it is to get it focused on the right track and their game.
Big-name companies have hundreds, if not thousands, of employees, and aside from the Public Relations section and appearance, which they need to tend and care for, they can easily gain viral points by tuning accordingly to current situations or beliefs. That’s hypocrisy towards their core beliefs and starting points.
Robin TGG
What’s it been like for you to be a lewd game studio based in Prague? And do you think the games industry has changed for the better since you started off back In 2019?
6thBase.com
Prague is a magnet for the adult world, so having an adult development studio where the workforce is available, technologically advanced, and the culture open-minded, it wasn’t a big hesitation to decide which town is best. Like all industries, they have to grow and evolve.
Gaming is by far the most versatile industry, which easily outpaces other entertainment sectors such as the movie and music industries. Game interaction transforms the entertainment consumer into a true participant, a player, which seems far better than being a passive consumer.
Since 2019, many things have improved, not just in making games. Technology has widely exploded, various solutions for online and remote working were created during the need of Corona, and so on. I’m looking forward to what AI will bring within 5-10 years, especially in gaming.
Robin TGG
I just found out that you guys work closely together with Nutaku. So, what has that partnership been like for you? And are you happy with how things have evolved over time in your partnership?
6thBase.com
The partnership is just getting started. We’re eager to team up with Nutaku, a more experienced game publisher, as we anticipate mutual success in the adult gaming industry. Together, we’ll innovate and captivate audiences worldwide, aiming for exceptional results.
Robin TGG
This might not be your cup of tea, but since VR tech and gaming just happen to have taken off big-time worldwide over the last couple of years. I just have to ask you if you have any plans at all for a future VR game title?
6thBase.com
It’s not our cup of tea, especially for our current 2D games. Perhaps one day, with new games like simulators or role-playing situations, VR could be a consideration. Personally, it seems like VR is growing too slowly, perhaps due to device availability, consumption style (as some players complain), or limitations in quality, interaction, and tech for recreating environments. Currently, we don’t have any plans for VR.
Robin TGG
Are there any game studios or games industry people that you look up to, respect and take inspiration from. If yes, then who & why is that?
6thBase.com
Absolutely, people who continuously support and are interested in the gaming world are our inspiration. Fans, news reporters like yourself, Robin, and influencers are the ones who share our passion and enthusiasm, fueling our drive to develop games.
Robin TGG
As we now have reached the very end of this interview, this will be my/our very last question for this time. So, with that said, What are your expectations, hopes, and plans for the rest of this year? And is there anything else that you would like to say to our readers?
6thBase.com
We’re eager to see how our partnership with Nutaku will unfold, where all our work will be available on our 6thBase studio page.
Cloud streaming has been available for a few years but has recently gained intensity, helping our adult content reach devices with strict rules. The evolution of AI will be an added bonus. I’d like to thank the readers of TheGG for their support.
