Pokémon Red and Blue launched to Gameboys and adolescents over 20 years ago, and we’ve never looked back since. It all started with catching over 150 of the little monsters, which became quite the headache in itself. We had to have an abundant supply of batteries and flashlights to play the game as often as we possibly could. Trading and trying to get the link cable to work properly were even more frustrating at times. Although we found friends and enemies in and out of the games, we never lost sight of the games goal: Gotta catch em all.

Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow will be released to the 3DS on the 27th of February.

Fast forward 20 years later and Nintendo turned that 150 Pokemon into a multi-billion dollar franchise that commands your attention once more. Nintendo is preparing to re-launch Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow on February 27th! The games will be delivered to your Nintendo 3DS via the eShop channel, and the nest part is you don’t need the link cable. You can trade with anyone via wireless connection. Honestly, it’s understandable why Nintendo has been re-launching the games, every few years when a new one is released its necessary to keep the cycle current. We saw Pokemon Leaf Green and Fire Red go through the same for the Game Boy Advance (that could also be said about Sapphire and Ruby on the Nintendo 3DS systems). Whatever your reason for loving it, Pokemon is here to stay and is a staple in the mobile gaming market forever.

Which version will you be picking up on February 27th? Let us know in the comments!

***Fast forward to 36:30 for the part about Pokémon Blue, Yellow and Red***
