Cortana is coming to Android phones soon enough, but if you don’t want to wait there’s good news on the horizon. While Microsoft hasn’t given an exact release date for the platform to launch, they did announce a beta program available for a limited number of US and Chinese’s users to test the software before it is ready for public use. Cortana has now been put online as an .APK file, which suggests that it is a leak for the beta program. The actual .APK file means that any Android user can install the Cortana program by turning off the security program setting related to sideloading apps, the fact that the Cortana beta leaked online and was uploaded as an .APK file means that a user wanted everyone to experience the beta even if they didn’t sign up.

I really like the idea of an female a.i. In fact, I have enjoyed that idea ever since the E.V.E a.i from Command & Conquer 1.
Making the program a realistic option for everyone is a very wise move for Microsoft. Creating a competitor program that will keep up with Apple’s Siri and Google’s Google Now is important. It keeps consumers happy, and equal with their decisions for organization. The only downside that can be foreseen is that the Android version of Cortana won’t offer all the options which the Windows phone version does- Voice commands such as “Hey Cortana” “wake up” will not work and will be exclusive to the Windows phone. If you’d like to wait it out, the official beta for Cortana will be available in a few weeks, and could still offer some surprises that differ from the leaked version. For now, if you already have it—share your thoughts and let others know it’s features.
