Variety has revealed the new costume that Stephen Amell will wear in Arrow Season 4. The new costume, which is designed by Maya Mani and based on the original design by Collen Atwood, seems to fit appropriately and suggests quite a few things for Oliver Queen. From what we can tell with this new costume, Oliver seems to be gearing up for tougher battles, and is drawing heavy influence from his time in the League of Assassins.
We can see reinforced shoulder pads, thicker bracers, and probably Kevlar under his armor. We know that Damian Darhk is the new Big Bad for Arrow Season 4, and that Felicity Smoak is his daughter. We’ll see Niel McDonough as Damien Darhk taking center stage to invoke his reign of terror on team Arrow.
We also know that Thea Queen will be having a harsh reaction to the Lazarus Pit, and that it could affect her being a part of Team Arrow.
From what the show runners have said, and what we know so far, Malcolm Merlyn will be Ra’s Al Ghul, and will also be returning for Arrow Season 4. My thought on this is that he wants the Lazarus Pit to restore a few people back from the dead—or resurrect some of the deadliest people in history to become generals in a new army. These people could include—but aren’t limited to:
Tommy Merlyn
Moira Queen
Mrs. Merlyn
Now obviously we don’t know if there are certain rules to the Lazarus Pit especially because Ra’s Al Ghul could also be returning to the series. The Lazarus Pit has always been a mystery of itself since it was featured in Batman’s universe. Another thing fans will be excited about wit the debut of Arrow Season 4, is that Oliver will finally separate his life and time from The Arrow. Mark Guggenheim promised fans that Oliver will be in for long days and nights, and that episodes and plots could stretch for several episodes.
We’ll also see more of the characters development and their time with their families to show us more of their human side. Perhaps Oliver’s son Connor or Diggle’s daughter Sara will get one shot episodes so we can see more.
We can also confirm that we’ll be seeing past characters return in one form or another. Colton Haynes was very aloof about his involvement in the 4th season, but that doesn’t mean he won’t return. We also have Slade Wilson, and The Suicide Squad lead by Amanda Waller still creeping around. Characters from Legends of Tomorrow will also be featured to crossover into Arrow Season 4 before the premiere of the spin off show of the same name. We know Katie Cassidy and Will Holland will be featured in more episodes and their roles on the show will be increased to become more of support rather than sidekicks or one shot characters on certain episodes.
