***UPDATE***
I´m really sad to inform you all that the singer Origa (who is well-known amongst Ghost In The Shell fans) has passed away at the age of 44. Because not so long ago (January 17th), Origa lost her battle against lung cancer.
This is sad and tragic on so many levels. It also makes me wonder how all of this will affect the upcoming Ghost In The Shell movie? Because Origa was a big part of the GITS universe.
R.I.P Origa.
————————
For some odd reason. There´s a big rise in anime and video game movie adoptions all of a sudden. Well, okay. That trend started years ago, but it has been an ongoing trend ever since then.
First it was the live-action movie “Akira“, a Appian Way (owned by Leonardo DiCaprio) and Warner Bros production. A project wish was shot dead in the water not so long ago.
Then we got the live-action movie of “Space pirate Cobra“. Which seems to have died out with time as well. And that makes me wonder what kind of faith awaits the live adoption of “Ghost In The Shell”?
Well, it´s rather hard to say at this time. Because there´s not that much information to be found about Rupert Sanders (“Snow White and the Huntsman”) Ghost In The Shell.
Some facts has been unveiled though. Like the fact that Masamune Shirow (and Jamie Moss) writes the script for the movie.
And that Scarlett Johansson will star in Ghost In The Shell (she will probably play Motoko Kusanagi). Me, personally. I don´t know what i should feel about this. I mean, i really love the new “Ghost in the shell: Arise” series.
But that´s an anime series. And it´s really hard to make a good live-action full length movie based on an anime (that´s probably why so many projects has been closed down lately).
But i wish Rupert Sanders (and his crew) the best of luck with his Ghost in the Shell movie. Which btw is set for a UK (in cinemas) release on the 26th of February 2016.
