Sometimes I seriously don´t know whether I’m watching a new episode of South Park, or if I have just spotted another crazy rant by an SJW follower. Well, this time it was the latter. And the creepy thing in this case, is that Direct2drive´s “Trigger warning week” campaign. Received almost the same exact response as Protein worlds “Are you beach body ready?” campaign (minus the bomb threats, at least so far). In fact, Direct2drives ad campaign even looks quite a lot like Protein world´s campaign ad (both ads has a yellow background and a dark text for example). So in a way, Direct2drive´s “Trigger warning week” campaign “might” become the Gaming worlds own version of the Protein world´s controversial ad campaign.

protein world are you beach body ready

Protein World and the head of global marketing (Richard Staveley) received bomb threats shortly after the launch of their “Are you beach body ready” campaign (these events took place earlier this summer).

So what did Direct2drive´s campaign look like then? Well, have a look-see for yourself (you will find a picture of the campaign down below).

direct2drive trigger warning week

I thought Superjoint Spiritual´s song “Dress like a target” when I saw this tweet.

Well, I don´t know about you, but personally I don´t get the big deal with the campaign. In the matter of fact, the PR people behind the campaign just took advantage of the current SJW situation in the world (people who get triggered by everyone and everything). In short, Direct2drive had a triple win, as Gamers can relate to “triggers” (FPS games, or any game that allows you to use guns), the SJWs got triggered by a campaign that says, “Trigger warning week”, and all while laughing at their stupidity (plus tons of free pr on top of that). I mean, for crying out loud. It´s just some text on a yellow background. The campaign ad can also be seen as a simple (and free) sanity test. As a normal person will just see a nice deal for some action games. While “others” while get triggered an angry by the ad. Sure, you got the “Inclusive, diverse and empowering” part of the campaign as well. However, to be fair, the Gaming world are very diverse, inclusive and empowering. As many games offer you the ability to make them into what you want (GTA5, Minecraft, The Witcher 3, Skyrim with many more).

Well, apparently “some” people decided to threat and boycott Direct2drive, and I’ve seen some really salty tweets about Direct2drive today (as seen in the pictures down below). So I’m honestly starting to wonder what the world has come to, when you can´t even run a Gaming ad without getting threats and angry rants?

direct2drivs vs sjw

I find it to be somewhat ironic that someone would get triggered by a campaign called “trigger warning week.”

direct2drive boycott

Well, everyone has the right to vote with their wallets. So she´s free to do that.

direct2drive the aftermath

Mr Antaar is right. There is nothing to be offended by.

In my opinion, Driect2drive just trolled the SJW movement while offering Gamers a nice deal on some games. And that´s about all there is to it. And one might wonder why the SJWs doesn´t focus on more important things then game ads that trigger them? You know, like the war in Syria, the Amazonas djungel, child trafficking and so on. Let´s just say that they should rant about things, which really matter, instead of wasting time on stuff that´s harmless.

With that said, what do you guys think? Did Direct2drive trigger you? And did they go too far with their ad campaign?
