Japan Vs the West, round 1 fight!
Even though it´s over seven months left until Capcom´s release of Street Fighter V (SFV will be released to PS4 and Windows in March next year), the SFV drama has already started (once, again it´s all about feminist design Vs None feminist design). At first, I didn´t even bother all that much about it (simply because I think it´s better to ignore stuff like that), but then I thought for myself “what if Capcom caves in to the rants from the SJW movement in the West?” (if that´s how it´s going to be, then we might end up with an uncensored SFV Japanese version, and a toned down/censored Western version of SFV). Well, no matter the outcome. Capcom won´t change the Japanese version for anything. Just take the fact that the Japanese Street Fighter players didn´t like the original look of Cammy in Street Fighter V (they thought that Cammy looked really ugly). So Capcom seems to have changed Cammy´s looks due to the complains (as seen in the pictures down below).
I can´t blame the Japanese Street Fighter players for being angry though. I mean, just take a look at what Cammy looked like in the E3 2015 SFV trailer:
No offense, but I like the new version of Cammy much better (her anime-styled eyes and new facial appearances are much more attractive, in my opinion). For example, Cammy´s jaw looked really strange before. However, it remains to be seen whether this will be Cammy´s final look in SFV or not (I sure hope that Hachima Kikou is right about Cammy´s new looks). Anyhow, let´s get back on topic again shall we?
SJW´s and radical feminists Vs Capcom´s female Street Fighter designs
So where should I begin? Ah, yes! Back in March (that´s where everything started in Sweden at least) this year there was quite a lot of fuss over a Swedish Metro article about female video game characters (“Anna tog bort de stora brösten på dataspelens kvinnor – möts av näthat” is the original title of the article). To make a long story short, the Swedish artist Anna Nilsson got so fed up with unclothed and sexy female game characters. That she decided to create her own versions of some of the most famous female video game fighters, there is (like Cammy, Morrigan, Mai, Elena and Felicia to name a few). And this how the article starts:
“Artist Anna Nilsson got tired of unclothed female characters in fighting games and decided to draw her own version of the well-known characters, Gone with big boobs and all the sexy poses. Anna´s cartoons have received considerable attention worldwide and Anna has both been hated, threatened and acclaimed.”
Original text (Swedish):
“Konstnären Anna Nilsson tröttnade på avklädda kvinnliga karaktärer i fightingspel och bestämde sig för att teckna om dem – bort med ballongbröst och alla sexiga poser. Teckningarna har fått stor uppmärksamhet över hela världen och Anna själv har både blivit hatad, hotad och hyllad.”
You know. I’m perfectly fine with that. People can do whatever they want, but I’m honestly starting to get rather fed up with all this “this needs to be changed because I’m offended by it” rants. It´s very simply really, just don´t buy games that you´re being offended by. And create your own games, which appeal to you (and like-minded people like yourself). Because the last thing that the video game industry needs right now, is a whole army of Brianna Wu think alike´s (as she´s always criticizing other people’s creations and ranting about how developers need to change their creations, just so that the games will receive the “Brianna Wu seal of approval” logo). Just take Wu´s most-recent outburst about Nintendo´s Samus Aran (Wu claimed that Samus Aran is a transgender women) for example.
Because keep in mind that Samus Aran (and the Metroid series) was created by Nintendo. Nevertheless, Wu still tried to make Samus into her own creation, anyhow, as for Street Fighter V. The only compromise solution that I can think of right now, is a “customizable fighters” option (looks, clothes, body size, etc.). However, I don´t know if that´s something which Capcom will add to Street Fighter V. I do know that SFV will feature 16 characters on launch though (in March next year for Windows and PS4), and the game will even have weather effects. So I can´t wait to play SFV in March next year!
Yoshinori Ono trolls the West, SJW´s and the feminists?
I hardly doubt that Yoshinori Ono (and Capcom) will tone down Street Fight V one bit (at least not in Asia) even if they do add a fully “customizable fighters” feature (think NFL, NHL, The Sims). So in other words, the SJW´s and feminists will still rant about SFV being sexist and full of misogyny. However, judging by the look of things, it doesn´t seem like Yoshinori and Capcom could care any less. Just take the Mika reveal trailer for example (which Capcom released about two weeks ago). Well, If I didn´t know any better, then I would think that Yoshinori (and Capcom) was trolling the living hell out of both feminists and SJW´s (just watch the pictures down below, and you will understand what I meant by that).
I don´t know if that´s the case (the trolling part), but I bet that Capcom and Yoshinori will release more pictures and videos of this nature in the future. Nevertheless, all of this leaves me with quite a lot of questions.
Questions such as:
– Why does ALWAYS feminists and SJWs whine over other people’s creations? And tell them how things should be?
– Where does the line between artistic freedom and sexism go?
– Should there be any limits at all for creators of video games? (what they can and can´t do)
– How comes that SJW´s and feminists never talk about the male characters in games?
– Why do a lot of female´s cosplay as famous female Street Fighter characters if Capcom is so terrible (sexist)?
– There are quite a few female Street Fighter players out there, but very few have asked them for their thoughts and opinions about this matter, why?
-Women LOVE to look good and sexy in real life (they usually love to show off their good looks as well), so why shouldn´t females look great in video games too?
– Is Street Fighter V really “too sexy” for it´s own good?
– What if Bill Burr (a stand-up comedian) is right? That “some” women just can´t stand the thought of males being happy for the simple things in life (such as video games). So they have to ruin all the fun for everyone because of jealousy?
Well, I don´t have all the answers for these questions, but I sure would love to hear what you guys and girls think about all of these questions. So feel free to leave your thoughts and opinions in the comment section!
