Anita Sarkeesian has been challenged by Milo Yiannopoulos to an open debate. The prize? $10,000 to herself and Feminist Frequency or to a Feminist charity of her choice. I can honestly tell you it will never happened for a multitude of reasons, but the bottom line is if you subtract a room full of people, take away cameras and delete moderation Sarkeesian loses her voice.
The only thing that made Anita Sarkeesian relevant was her ability to add a feminist slant on any piece of media she has reviewed, or provided alone. Unlike many other prominent feminist in her field, she has no angle to attack besides gaming, and film–which to say the least isn’t dominated by men as Ubisoft proved.
In fact now, above anytime else she seems to be distancing herself from her followers: Brianna Wu, Zoe Quinn, and even Randy Harper. It could be that she’s found I’ll use of them, and is attempting to give more attention to her for new video series.
If Milo did debate Anita openly, evenly, and unyielding it wouldn’t be a fair fight. Being asked to provide proof of one’s claims isn’t how third wave feminism works–and you can’t do that–it’s not fair!
Spare me the lecture. Anti–GG is dead. I could replay all of Internet Aristocrats videos, and Leo Pirates and show you how many times she’s repeated her for elf relentlessly.
After 5 mins Milo would pull at the yarn holding Sarkeesian´s feminist sweater together and expose her brazen armor crafted from lies, and treachery. Once exposed she’d have no choice but to apologize to the she people see stole from, lied to, and led astray as a false prophet. I for one look forward to her reply because she can’t ignore the challenge–it’s the hoop great and open.
Then again, Anita could always use those $10,000 to finish her “forever in the making” video series (which should have been done and made years ago. In fact, Anita is far behind her original release schedule).
