E3 has given fans some of the greatest games we could possibly ask for in 2017. Alongside these titles, we have a new accessory for the PlayStation 4 to look forward to in the form of the PlayStation VR (Virtual Reality). Each conference presented much to be desired for fans, and developers alike as each took the
stage day after day. We’ve decided to highlight the greatest announcements from the entire E3 experience and speak on what makes each one so special to fans.

God of War

god of war e3 2016 ps4 kratos

Kratos is a “bit” older in the new “God of War” game. However, he seems to be the same good old Kratos.

It wouldn’t be Sony if they didn’t present a new “God of War”, and just like its namesake it looks like Kratos is going back into the lion’s den once again. Although he’s taken on a more fatherly role in this brand-new title, which also features RPG elements, and sandbox style gameplay–he’s just as deadly and ready for the Norse god’s. It’s been quite a while since Sony has announced a new “God of War”, the last title: “God of War Ascension“, was a prequel title for the Playstaion 3. Since then loose rumors surfaced of Sony Santa Monica making a “God of War 4”, or an equivalent title, but nothing until now.

Although no release date exists yet, we’ve seen the game played on the PlayStation 4, and understand that Kratos may not be using the identicle weapons and tools that we’re used to from prior titles. One thing is clear though: He’s still the same bad ass that we have loved since the PlayStation 2 in 2004.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

“The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” will be released to Wii U and the NX console sometime next year.

Nintendo didn’t wait very long to entice fans with the new “Legend of Zelda” gameplay experience at their conference, and it was worth every second! Link has returned to Hyrule as the hero we all know and love, but things are a bit different this time around. This Legend of Zelda will be an RPG, and a vast and open one at that! The world in “Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild” is 12x the size of “The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess“. Another neat feature fans will enjoy is finding hearts, items and other treasures in grass clearings, enemy drops, and even upgrades on your travels.

Weapons will break after excessive use, but many of the weapons you use will have multiple uses. For example, tree branches can be used to light fires, and shields can be used as makeshift snowboards. Also in-game, Link possesses a piece of technology known as the Sheikah Slate, which provides players with a map and allows Link to create waypoints and investigate enemy stats.

By discovering various runes, the Sheikah Slate can be upgraded with various powers, including creating bombs, controlling objects with magnetism, and stopping time around objects and enemies. Well, that sure sounds like a lot of previous entries being compiled into one, now doesn’t it? And hopefully we’ll get some “Majora’s Mask” options included as well.

“The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” will also support Amiibo action, as the Wolf Link Amiibo, can copy data over from Twilight Princess HD, and it summons Wolf Link as a partner character. Wolf Link carries over the amount of hearts that are saved onto the Amiibo after playing through the Cave of Shadows in Twilight Princess HD. Wolf Link can be summoned once per day.

Elder Scrolls V Remastered

the elder scrolls skyrim hd e3 2016

If you haven´t played”Elder Scrolls V” before, then it would be a good idea to pick up the Remastered edition for either Xbox One, PS4 or PC in October (October 28th, to be exact.

Bethesda has given fans what they’ve been asking for since the launch of the PlayStation 4, the “Elder Scrolls Remastered”! There’s a lot more coming along with just the game as well. In addition to revisiting the same locations you loved in 2011, the game will support PC Mods, and allow players to select their favorite mods from a list, and you can even vote on the best mods to make them recommendable to other players. If you want nicer dragons, the ability to walk on water or just have Batman armor. Then it’s all included in the remastered edition of “Elder Scrolls V” .

Crash Bandicoot Remastered

“Crash Bandicoot” has been off of Sony consoles since almost 2004, the last title “Crash Wrath of Cortex” was lackluster–as Universal tried to keep the beloved mascot popular to no available audience. Since then there was talk of Sony trying to buy back the rights from Activision to create a new series. This didn’t go as planned since we never received a brand-new title, but now we’ll have the original three Crash Bandicoot titles for the PlayStation 4. There’s more happening with Crash Bandicoot than we thought, as he’ll also be making an appearance in Skylanders Imaginators as himself. There’s no mention of Dr. Cortex, or Coco appearing, but anything could happen before the game launches.

Ubisoft is giving away free games each month

Has Ubisoft gone to far this time?

Has Ubisoft gone to far this time?

Ubisoft is giving something special to fans for the next seven months in the form of free games! Every month fans can download a free game to celebrate Ubisoft’s 30th anniversary starting with 2003’s “The Prince of Persia Sands of Time” game. Although the titles will only be downloadable for PC, it’s still a great opportunity to receive free games from Ubisoft and get into the PC spirit.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered

For Call of Duty fans, the greatest thing that could have been announced has been! “Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare” will be available for the PlayStation 4 system as a part of “Call of Duty Infinite Warfare”. The original 2007 game will be featured entirely for the campaign, but there’s a small hitch when it comes to the multiplayer aspect. You can only have 10 favorite maps. The full list hasn’t been announced yet, but so far what’s confirmed is Crash, Backlot and Crossfire.

In addition to these maps, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare will include Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare with the following editions:

Legacy Edition and Digital Legacy Edition ($80) includes both Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered
Digital Deluxe Edition ($100) – Includes Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered and Season Pass
Legacy Pro Edition ($120) – Includes Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, Season Pass, collectible Steelbook, official game soundtrack, and additional digital items

However, Activision did not say if they plan to sell Modern Warfare Remastered by itself, but we can expect them to consider it, and possibly announce the sequel entries in the series for remastered release in Modern Warfare 2-3.

Resident Evil 7

reisdent evil 7 logo

“Resident Evil 7” is set for a realy on the 24th of January next year (for Windows, PS4 and Xbox One).

The demo for “Resident Evil 7” left a lot to the avid imagination, as we know the project is far from finished. In the 30-minute demo, we saw in first person the horrors awaiting players for the new entry. Capcom has already stated that the protagonist will be different from the one featured in the demo, and that fans can expect a lot of frustration and intense gameplay for the brand-new title. After the massive failure of “Resident Evil 6,” fans have needed a beacon of hope to believe in the series again, and if Resident Evil 7 can do this, we’ll see Capcom redeem itself immensely.

RE7 will not be a reboot or tangent from the series. There will be fewer enemies, but they will be tougher. The game will draw inspiration from classical horror movies, and there will be fewer weapons throughout the campaign. We also know that RE7 is inspired by “Resident Evil 1”, and will feature herbs as well. What’s not clear yet though, is if we´re going to see some of the classic “Resident Evil” characters from the franchise (will anyone from the old games make an appearance in RE7 at all?). If so we should receive someone, we haven’t seen in a long while such as Claire Redfield, or even Jill Valentine.

Watch Dogs 2

In the gameplay trailer for “Watch Dogs 2”, the protagonist Marcus is able to hack everything in the city. And that includes everything from smart cars to tablets. So, yes, there’s nothing out of your reach as a hacker in this new game. You’re located in San Francisco, and will be able to explore the greater bay area. From Oakland, to the Golden Gate Bridge, you have it all. With fast cars, immense exploration, and a solid narrative that its predecessor set the foundation for. And with all of that combined, “Watch Dogs 2″ is set to become one of the greatest games for PS4, Xbox One and PC in November next year.

Microsoft’s new consoles (Xbox One S and Xbox One Scorpio)

Microsoft has dropped a serious bomb on the competition by announcing they have two new console primeval in the works. The first has been announced as the Xbox One S for this August and project Scorpio for the holiday 2017 season. Microsoft had been dropping the prices of the Xbox One recently to almost $249.99 in most retailer stores to anticipate the new systems arrival. In addition to this, Microsoft admitted that instead of denying the consoles existence and risk a potential leak, MS decided to speak openly about it at E3 this year.

One reason behind why Microsoft announced two systems at this year´s E3 event, could point to the fact that Sony always dominates with their systems integration across platforms. Along with the announcement of the Playstaion 4 NEO, Microsoft could be looking to score a point in the arena again as overseas sales of tufted system haven’t been very lucrative.

Nevertheless, all of these games and consoles are looking as sharp as ever with their hosts. And no matter whether you love Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo. You still have to agree that this E3 was the best one for this generation of consoles. There will be more stories to follow all of the announcements from E3, and we’ll be bringing them all to you, including coverage of San Diego Comic-Con. Stay tuned for more.
