I don´t like bullies, haters and trolls. And I especially don´t like those who tell people what they can and cannot do based on their gender or skin color. So I got quite upset when I found out about what happened to xChocoBars (a female Gamer and streamer) just the other day. You see. xChocoBars was just minding her own business while playing “Overwatch” on Twitch. And all of a sudden, a really stupid idiot appears and starts to heckle xChocoBars.
Basically, the guy told her that she shouldn´t be playing video games because she´s a girl. And that has to be the most ignorant and stupid thing that I´ve ever heard. Right of the bat, Gaming and skills has nothing to do with gender. Because either you have it, or you don’t (“skills” and “talent”). I mean, just take the female South Korean “Overwatch” player “Gegury“. She was so good at playing Zarya in “Overwatch”, that people thought that she cheated. And I´m not trying to be a white knight in armor here, but I think it´s really sad that some people believe that females can´t be good at games (or Gaming in general).
And I honestly don´t know where this negative attitude comes from, because I remember the days when I played “Quake 1”, “Quake 2” and “Unreal Tournament” in Internet and LAN tournaments. And at the time, there were no negative thoughts towards female Gamers. On the contrary, we (I and those who I played games with at the time) welcomed female Gamers with open arms. And good thing that, as we soon realized that girls indeed could compete on the same level as guys. Simply put, we just wanted the best of the best. So we figured that it would be a very bad idea not to give female Gamers a chance to show what they´re made off. And I still don´t regret my decision to do so, especially not since I found my second girlfriend by doing so.
Sure, I can´t speak for everyone else, but on a personal level. I don´t judge people by their gender, skin color, sexual orientation or religious beliefs. I simply see talent Vs untalented and good Vs bad people. So it sure felt really good to see xChocoBars own oher heckler on Twitch with one of the best live disses that I´ve ever seen. In the matter of fact, xChocoBars Overwatch stream actually made me think about that one CS:GO player who got insulted and then turned the insult into a song. My point would be this, don´t let trolls and haters bring you down. And don´t let them ruin who you are, just turn their own hate against them (like in the case with xChocoBars and the CS:GO player, for example).
