Press release:
Rumours fly of a legendary artifact hidden within the dangerous and treacherous Grey Top Mountain: the Elementalist Staff, the most valued possession of the former Elementalist who called the spire home. Many treasure seekers have tried their luck but none have returned down the mountain alive, let alone with the infamous artifact in hand. Will you take this challenge and be the first heroes to reclaim the Elementalist’s prize?
The Age of Fear team is happy to announce that The Elementalist, Age of Fear 3’s first DLC, is now available on Steam for € 4,99 / $ 4.99 / £ 3.99 with a launch discount up to a 25%. The Elementalist lets you further explore the world of Age of Fear 3, full of magic, fantasy, humor and a bunch of unique characters.
Age of Fear 3 was released on Steam on September 1st. The high customization of your characters’ skills and inventories and the complex AI, developed by a world-leading expert in AI and cooperative networks agents, offers a very deep and tactical gameplay experience. The game features two long campaigns with unusual stories and a good dose of humor: you can either play as a dryad and her bloodthirsty drider lover, supported by a crazy swamp witch, set on a quest for revenge after being captured by a slaver; or as a band of drunken greedy dwarves fighting against… well, everything on their path (mushroom-men included!). Age of Fear 3 also offers a PvP multiplayer mode and an extensive modding support – everything can be modded, from units’ sprites, stats and skills, to maps, levels, campaign and even the behavior of the different AIs.
Feature list:
▪ Summon and command powerful Elementals to support or even completely replace your army
▪ Collect the Elementalist Staff, a powerful artifact given at the end of this campaign
▪ 6 new battles and duels with the Guardians of the Tower
▪ 2 new battle music themes
▪ Fight new enemies – Gargoyles and Clockwork Hydras
ABOUT THE AGE OF FEAR SERIES
With a user approval of +90% in Steam, the Age of Fear franchise has gathered a loyal and strong community in the past years. The first Age of Fear game was published back in 2011. Age of Fear: The Undead King established the foundations of the franchise: deep and emergent gameplay with hundreds of different units, skills and spells; a complex and realistic AI that makes every battle a real tactical challenge; different branching storylines with a good dose of black humor, plus multiplayer mode; and total integration with Steam Workshop’s modding. This first installment featured two campaigns where you could play as a noble knight or an evil necromancer; the second one, Age of Fear 2: The Chaos Lord, came out in 2015 and featured demons and brutal orcs as playable factions.
ABOUT THE AGE OF FEAR TEAM
The Age of Fear franchise is being developed by a group of five game designers with different backgrounds from all over the world: such as British fantasy novelist, a Tower Defense game developer from Canada, an entrepreneur from Oceania, and a medical doctor from Russia. They were brought together by their deep love for complex turn-based strategy games. They felt that AAA producers had abandoned the TBS genre over the last decade; that decided them to join efforts to introduce younger players to this very neglected genre. Age of Fear’s lead programmer, Leslaw Sliwko, is a worldwide recognized expert in AI and cooperative agents’ networks, with a number of scientific papers published on the subject. His works have been presented in the most important conferences in countries such as Taiwan, France, and the UK – among others.
