It’s time to take on all of the retro goodness of Atari, one neon-colored brick at a time. Today, the iconic publisher announced a February 10, 2022, launch date for “Breakout: Recharged“, a reimagined revival of the arcade classic.

Soon, you’ll be breaking things down brick by brick with electrified neon visuals and modernized gameplay on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Atari VCS, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

Strategy is key in Breakout: Recharged; land your hit or face unforeseen consequences on the digital battlefield! Utilize power-ups for explosive combos with the all-new rail gun, homing missiles, and unforgiving blasts to join the traditional multi-ball. You’ll need every tool in the arsenal and razor-sharp reflexes to climb the global leaderboards!

Atari’s Recharged series breathes new life into the most seminal fan-favorites of the 1970s and ’80s while keeping true to what made those games undeniable smash-hits — simple and engaging gameplay, accessible pick-up-and-play controls, and plain ol’ high score-chasing fun. The Atari VCS version of Breakout: Recharged features exclusive content and is optimized for play with the all-new Atari Wireless Classic Joystick.

Breakout: Recharged and the entirety of the Recharged series is made in collaboration with developers Adamvision Studios and SneakyBox Studios.

The official Atari Recharged soundtrack from award-winning artist and composer Megan McDuffee is now available on Bandcamp. McDuffee created the electronic 80s-inspired original soundtrack from the ground up for the series.
