Global indie publisher ESDigital Games has revealed a brand new gameplay trailer for its Metroidvania side-scrolling action game “AWAKEN: Astral Blade“, which will be released for PlayStation consoles and PC via Steam and EGS later this year.

Developed by Dark Pigeon Games, AWAKEN: Astral Blade is a dark Metroidvania side-scrolling action game in which players take on the role of Tania, the game’s bionically enhanced protagonist, as she is sent deep into the rainforests in search of a missing Investigation Force. Here, Tania’s journey truly begins when she discovers ancient secrets buried deep within the ruins of the forest, and she must discover the truth of her own origins and destiny.

Fans interested in getting some early hands-on time with AWAKEN: Astral Blade can download the PC demo from Steam now and add the game to their Wishlist.

About AWAKEN: Astral Blade
Weave your own story in this dark 2D side-scrolling action fairy tale game. Join Tania, the bionically enhanced protagonist as she is sent into the rainforests of Horace Islands in search of a missing Investigation Force. Once there, Tania discovers a dark Karpas energy flooding through the islands, mutating the animals and plants into deadly anathemorphs.

As she journeys deeper into the forests, Tania discovers the centuries-old remains of the ‘Eternity’, a long-lost civilisation thought extinct, and with it, the former Altar of the Eternity and ground zero of the Karpas energy source. Here Tania’s journey truly begins as she discovers ancient secrets buried deep within the ruins and she must discover the truth of the Eternity and the truth of her own origins and destiny.
