BORDEAUX, FRANCE – December 15th, 2022.
Independent Game Developer Playwing, are proud to announce that after a successful launch across PC and home consoles, their free-to-play dragon shooter “Century: Age Of Ashes” will be introducing new and existing players alike to its first-ever PvE event, titled ‘The Last Bastion’. Heed the call of the dragons and set the battlefield ablaze on December 15th!

The main piece of content introduced as part of this free event will be the ‘Outbreak’ PvE game mode, where players must band together and defend their base against the assault of horrific enemies born from their very nightmares: the Dwellers. These foes are unrelenting and will continue to push players’ skills and team coordination to their furthest limit with each passing wave.

With each onslaught that they successfully survive, Dragoneers will need to prepare thanks to a brand-new Upgrade System – offering buffs and upgrades to their abilities and the base they defend.

This new mechanic comes as one of the refreshing ‘roguelike’ elements introduced for the very first time in “Century: Age Of Ashes”. Alongside it, the AI-controlled swarm of Dwellers will vary in strength, attack types, speeds and more, so Dragoneers will need to keep their wits about them if they want to survive this battle.

Avid followers of the rich dark fantasy lore will have come across these Dwellers before, and know of the looming threat which they hold over the Valkürian Sanctuary. Indeed, the ‘Outbreak’ PvE game mode marks the culminating battle of ‘Season 1: A Shadow Over Skeld’ against the armies of the Parasite Queen – a face-off that players will be constantly reminded of as they glance over the gigantic monster unleashing waves of Dwellers upon the map of Hel’s Breach.

To wrap this all up, players can indulge in ‘The Last Bastion’ time-limited event from December 15th, 2022 until January 18th, 2023. Completing sets of missions in the PvE game-mode will grant players their very own customisations and as extra rewards, 4 unique dragons (one for each rider class) for the overachievers out there. To also satisfy players looking for competitive play, the event will also offer rewards based on PvP leaderboards.

Century: Age Of Ashes will also see a long-awaited update of the Ranked PvP queueing system, a new in-game UI that speaks true to dark fantasy fans and Quality of Life improvements giving dragoneers much more to sink their teeth into. The store will also be refilled with time-limited shop items, such as the legendary Ensemble of the Winterborn, and the comeback of festive dragons.
