October 14, 2026 – Apparently, the original DARKENSTEIN 3D wasn’t enough punishment.

MicroProse and Rowye are delighted to announce that DARKENSTEIN 3D: Total Trampage is OUT NOW on Steam, bringing a fresh helping of violence, questionable life choices, and absolutely no improvements to Gunther’s personality.

And because watching things explode never gets old, there’s a brand-new launch trailer to celebrate the occasion.

Same bad attitude. More carnage.

Total Trampage takes the familiar chaos of DARKENSTEIN 3D and makes it considerably worse. In the best possible way, obviously.

Here’s what you’re getting:

5 remixed campaign levels: Familiar places, unfamiliar problems. New layouts, encounters, and secrets.

11 endless arenas: Waves of enemies, increasingly poor survival prospects, and no convenient exit.

New weapons and enemies: Because the existing arsenal of murder wasn’t quite sufficient.

Challenge modifiers: Adjust bullet speed, enemy damage, and your own survivability. Make it brutal, or admit your limitations.

New Game+: Finished the game? Congratulations. Do it again.

A jukebox: Because even wholesale destruction deserves a decent soundtrack.

More enemies. More bullets. More opportunities to regret getting out of bed.

Inspired by the brutal rhythm of Return to Castle Wolfenstein and the glory of 1990s shooters, Darkenstein 3D is a fast, skill-based retro FPS packed with handcrafted levels, hidden secrets, explosive physics, and bloody combat. Players take control of the Hobo Guy, an American drifter fighting through enemy territory to rescue his kidnapped dog, Gunther.

Developed over four years by solo developer Rowye and published on PC by MicroProse, Darkenstein 3D is available free on Steam.

Rowye is a digital artist and indie game developer from Badalona, Spain.Years of working with illustration, video editing, and music pushed him into learning game dev, combining technical skills with his strong visual style.

Darkenstein 3D is Rowye’s first game, a passion project developed over four years. It reflects both his love for classic shooters like Wolfenstein and Doom and his drive to create something personal, intense, and handcrafted.
