Today, independent horror publisher and production company DreadXP is pleased to announce that “Dread X Collection 5“, the latest installment in their popular anthology horror series, will release via Steam on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2022.

Based around the theme of “entertainment”, the collection brings forth 12 delightfully twisted short-form nightmares from the creators of such indie hits as 0°N 0°W, Lakeview Cabin, Sylvio, and The Mortuary Assistant.

Dread X Collection 5 transports players to terrifying locales like haunted nightclubs, dark carnivals, haunted puppet shows, the country Finland in the year 1888, a karaoke bar toilet, and so much more! While all games in the collection are horror-themed, they each have their unique takes on what truly makes a great horror experience.

From shotgun-blasting hordes of the undead and escaping a crazed carnival killer, to taking part in a life or death game of ‘find the flowers’, and carrying an egg on a spoon, there’s lots of twisted horror goodness to be had in Dread X Collection 5.

The Dread X Collection series premiered in May 2020 and has since spawned four individual releases, featuring a collective of 41 curated horror shorts from some of the industry’s top independent developers.

Inspired by Game Jams, each collection has its own thematic concept which points the featured developers in a similar direction but with full creative freedom. Prior to the launch of Dread X Collection 5, DreadXP will be in Boston, Massachusetts at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center for PAX East 2022 — from April 21 through April 24 — showcasing four new games from its roster of upcoming titles.

Attendees can visit DreadXP on the show floor at Booth #20079 to play Dread Delusion, My Friendly Neighborhood, The Mortuary Assistant, and SPOOKWARE Multiplayer on demo stations powered by Alienware.
