May 20, 2026 – Finland-based game studio Cosmic Division has launched under the leadership of Harry Krueger.

Having spent almost 15 years at Housemarque, Krueger played a key role in creating titles such as Returnal, Nex Machina, and Resogun. Krueger also helped shape the initial direction of the recently acclaimed SAROS before full production began. The new studio aims to establish its own identity while building on years of experience crafting award-winning action experiences.

Cosmic Division embraces a focused and responsibly ambitious approach to development. Operating with a “lean-and-mean” philosophy, the studio prioritizes craftsmanship, fast iteration, and sustainable growth over scale. With a compact team and focused vision, every decision is guided by a simple principle: do what is best for the game.

The studio’s first project will be a new IP, that embodies Cosmic Division’s creative DNA. Designed as a single-player PC and console title, the game will deliver an unapologetically gameplay-first experience and a story with strong emotional resonance. The project will celebrate the studio’s heritage, while exploring new creative horizons and shaping Cosmic Division’s unique voice.

Cosmic Division operates in downtown Helsinki, and aims to deliver world-class quality with its compact and experienced team. The studio has secured its seed funding, and is actively looking for collaborators, investors and exceptional talent as it advances through pre-production.

“We’re excited to push further into the experiences we love creating: intoxicating gameplay loops, audiovisual spectacle, and impactful stories that linger with players long after the credits have rolled,” Krueger concludes.
