Press release:
Poland – September 27, 2017 – 76 games, contestants from 17 different countries and a prize pool of over forty thousand zlotys – these are just the few numbers of the second edition of FreeGalaktus. Last year’s edition was a huge success and met with great interest of media and game developers. The jury unanimously voted Thing Trunk’s (game developer from Warsaw) product – “Book of Demons” the winner. Information about the contest reached hundreds of thousands of users on social media and brand websites. Now, the third edition of the international contest for indie developers is underway.
For the third time, FreeGalaktus is organized by Galaktus PR, an agency that provides services to clients from technological sector and gaming industry. The goal of the whole contest is to choose the best products from all the games submitted by the indie game developers.
– FeeGalaktus is a great way for small developers, that can’t afford big social campaigns, to promote their game. The winner of the FreeGalaktus will get e.g. booths on major game events, support in running social media profiles and hardware necessary to work. Guys from Galaktus PR will also help with presenting your product on international events. If developers want to reach out to their fans and start building a community, participating in FreeGalaktus is their best bet – says Konstanty Kalicki from Thing Trunk.
FreeGalaktus 2017 jury includes specialists from the fields of gaming and marketing. One of them is Adam Saczko, former editor of CD-Action, currently a QA Analyst in CD Project RED working on e.g. card game “Gwent”. Konstanty Kalicki is a very experienced game developer. As a co-founder of Thing Trunk, together with his team, he won the last year’s edition of FreeGalaktus with the game “Book of Demons”. Jan Olejnik, working for 1C Publishing EU, helps indie developers with releasing their products. Another member of the jury will be a popular YouTuber, Kamil “CTSG” Popielski, associated with Poznań Gaming Guild. CTSG is concerned with, among other things, promoting the positive impact of video games on young people’s lives. All this will be supervised by Mateusz Szukajt, a man behind the idea of FreeGalaktus. Mateusz, the owner of Galaktus PR, is very passionate about video games and supports indie games, its developers and events.
This year, there are two winners. The main prize of FreeGalaktus is the PR campaign in Poland and Europe. We will help the winners with managing their social media profiles and provide the hardware from our technical sponsor: Lioncast. There will be two champions: one game will be selected by the jury, the other by the fans in the online poll. The winning teams will have a guaranteed booth spots on the following events: East Games United 2017, Pixel Heaven 2018, Casual Connect 2018 and Reboot Develop as well as a lecture on Digital Dragons 2018 – a chance to present their game to the broader audience.
