Press release:
NEW YORK – November 3, 2026 – Atari, Pipeworks and Toho International today launched the legendary kaiju arena brawler Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 for $29.99. A physical edition is also available for PlayStation 5 ($29.99 USD) and Nintendo Switch 2 ($39.99) on atari.com. The Nintendo Switch digital versions will be released in Japan and select Asian markets on Thursday, November 5th at 00:00 JST. No physical versions have been announced for Japan.
In Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered, players take control of the franchise’s most iconic kaiju – including the fan-favorite Showa-era Mechagodzilla – arising from the depths to battle each other across fully destructible cities including Tokyo and San Francisco. As sirens wail and skyscrapers crumble, players will master unique movesets from the diverse roster of kaiju, each featuring signature special moves and devastating abilities. With monstrous powers at their command, players will fight to dominate rival monsters in explosive, high-stakes brawls.
“With the original game, we showed players what it felt like to turn an entire city into a weapon, trashing skyscrapers and hurling buildings at each other,” said Lindsay Gupton, CEO of Pipeworks.
“The sense of scale and destruction was a defining part of what made Destroy All Monsters Melee so special, and we’re thrilled to be able to deliver the ultimate version of that vision. By rebuilding the game from the ground up with today’s technology, we’ve unlocked the scale, destruction and intensity our team always dreamed of bringing to Godzilla fans.”
A high-fidelity Unreal Engine 5 remake of the hit 2002 3D arena fighter, Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered bridges retro charm and modern performance, delivering new levels of scale and atmospheric grandeur to the in-demand cult classic. A streamlined point-based unlock and upgrade system, online matchmaking and 4K performance bring the experience into the present. Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered delivers the definitive version of the world’s premier kaiju brawler.
“Working with legacies as massive as Godzilla and Destroy All Monsters Melee is a responsibility we don’t take lightly,” said Mike Mika, Chief Creative Officer of Atari.
“Destroy All Monsters Melee gave players something truly unique when it launched – the chance to step into the role of a Godzilla monster and turn an entire city into a battlefield. As the original publisher, it felt only natural for Atari to reunite with Pipeworks, the original developer and kaiju experts, to bring this fan-favorite back to center stage and introduce its larger-than-life destruction to a whole new generation of players.”
Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 for $29.99. A physical edition on PlayStation 5 ($29.99 USD) and Nintendo Switch 2 (full cartridge, $39.99) is available on atari.com. The Nintendo Switch digital versions will be released in Japan and select Asian markets on Thursday, November 5th at 00:00 JST. No physical versions have been announced for Japan.
