Quixel’s death-defying debut VR title is available now on HTC Vive & Oculus Rift via Steam.

Press release:
16th February 2017, Sweden: Graphics technology pioneers, Quixel, have announced today that Homebound, their highly anticipated space-survival VR title, is available now for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift via Steam. The game is priced at £8.99/$8.99/€8.99 and early adopters can also look forward to a further 20% off for a week after release.

Players will defy death as they become a lone astronaut facing a series of catastrophic events in deep space in this short and intense VR experience. With nothing but their senses and the ship’s AI to rely on for guidance, the only option is to fight to stay alive. But when disaster strikes and the ship, out of control, begins hurtling towards Earth…the chances for survival begin to decrease with every second. Dead or alive — you are Homebound.

Although Homebound is Quixel’s debut VR title they are no strangers to videogames, having dedicated almost a decade to developing graphics technologies for leading games studios, globally. Some of their most notable work can be seen in AAA games franchises like: Battlefield, Destiny, Halo, Doom, StarCraft and Dark Souls. Now, set on pushing the boundaries of VR visuals, Quixel look forward to bringing players the most stunning and cutting-edge graphics for VR to date.

“Homebound is created using Quixel SUITE, the texturing toolkit used in most of today’s major AAA franchises” Says Wiktor Ohman, Lead Developer at Quixel. “It uses Quixel’s Megascans technology to deliver the most believable surfaces to date in VR and we can’t wait for gamers to experience it!”

Homebound is available to download now for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift via Steam at 20% off. Follow the devs on Twitter for all the latest news, updates and giveaways.
