Modern-day text adventure also gets big Steam Early Access update.

16 NOVEMBER 2017 — The inventive modern-day text adventure, Just One Line, today receives a playable demo alongside a brand new trailer and major game update. The demo, made available by developers JOL Studios on the game’s Steam page, allows players to dip their toes into Just One Line’s fantasy questing and text-based, choose-your-own-adventure style roleplaying – all set in a vibrant 3D world. The demo allows players to build their own adventurer and embark on three quests from the game. The full title includes dozens of quests, each with multiple paths and endless replayability – and which will be expanded on to potentially limitless effect when content creation tools are released early next year.

Meanwhile, a major new game update has been released via Early Access. Named ‘The Prohibitionist Update’ – as it changes a focus of the gameplay from drinking liquor to upgrading gear – the update improves quest features and functionality, adds new stats and prices to the game’s armoury, and includes various other minor gameplay changes and bug fixes.

“Players have been responding really well to the Early Access version of Just One Line, so we’re pleased to be releasing a demo today to share our vision with more people,” said programmer Mirco Pazzaglia.

He added: “Just One Line is an unusual and ambitious game – part-classic text adventure, part-roleplaying game, and soon to be a colourful user-generated content platform. So we hope this demo will allow people to try the game and see if it’s something they’d like to be involved in from the ground up.”

Just One Line is available now via Steam Early Access for £6.99 / $9.99. The demo is available for free via the Steam page.
