Press release:
The Tokyo-based (Japan) indie games publisher PLAYISM and Shanghai-based (China) indie games developer Adventurer’s Tavern, are today very happy and excited to announce that they have just released a new major update (the update introduces new features and a brand new side story to the game) for their leisurely maid cafe adventure “Maid Cafe on Electric Street“ (rhe said update is available right now for PC via Steam).

A Major Update Bursting with Content!

In this update, we’ve added the new side story “Rin and the Mysterious Challenge”, new date conversations, a handy backlog function where you can read past conversations, a new “Cooking Inspiration” feature, and some quirky new NPCs!

And of course, we’ve also rolled out various bug fixes and QOL improvements. We hope you enjoy the new additions to the world of Maid Cafe on Electric Street!

Side Story: Rin and the Mysterious Challenge

You and Rin Arisugawa follow the black cat into Togetsuya, but find yourself trapped inside! Can you escape with Rin safely?!

This is a new escape room scenario with some tricky riddles to solve, so it’s time to put on your thinking cap!

The new side story can be accessed from the title screen.
New Date Conversations with the Maids!

We’ve added a lot of new dialogue with other characters for when you go on dates with your maids!

Now you can enjoy chatting with the residents of Electric Street and your best girl even more.
Backlog Function

We’ve added a way to read conversations you might have accidentally skipped or otherwise want to reread: the backlog!

It’ll be useful in the side story too, since there might be hints in your conversations…
New Feature: Cooking Inspiration

Eating food items or eating out at restaurants can now grant you Cooking Inspiration!

The Cooking Inspiration you’ve collected can be used in the cafe management menu to attempt to raise your cafe’s overall culinary skill. The more Cooking Inspiration you have, the higher the success rate, while spending 100 or more Cooking Inspiration guarantees a success.

The overall culinary skill can be raised at most 5 times, and this makes cooking just a little quicker during opening hours!
Quirky New Original NPCs

We’ve added new original NPCs inspired from friends of the development team!

They’ll appear on Electric Street and visit the cafe during management mode, so even if you’ve already beaten the game, you should still go and pay them a visit!
Improvements, Fixes, and Additions

Added the names of players who have participated in the campaign to find Adventurer’s Tavern to the credits.
Made it so that in-game CGs are correctly saved to the cloud.
Fixed several bugs reported by the community.

20% OFF for the Taipei Game Show Sale!
We’re also joining the Taipei Game Show Steam sale, and the base game and soundtrack will both be on sale at 20% OFF, at its lowest price yet!

Sale duration: 10:00 AM January 21 to 10:00 AM February 4, 2025 (PST)

Don’t miss out!

Game Overview

“Um, would you be interested in becoming the new manager of the cafe?”

Fuwa Fuwa Cafe—a maid cafe tucked away in a quiet part of Nipponbashi, and where a wonderful encounter is about to take place…

You, the protagonist, quit your job at an extremely toxic workplace and find yourself at a run-down maid cafe, where a cute maid named Shiro works.

At first, you only agree to become the new manager because it conveniently met all your urgent needs, but soon the colorful maids Miyu, Favna, and Honoka join in. And as you spend time with them and meet the people of Electric Street, both you and the cafe will gradually liven up once more.

Maid Cafe on Electric Street is a story-focused adventure game where you enjoy daily life at Fuwa Fuwa Cafe. Make yourself a cup of coffee, relax, and immerse yourself in a heartwarming story.

Main Characters & Voice Cast

“But now that you’re here, it’ll probably be fine! Yes!”

Shiro (VA: Ikumi Hasegawa)

A maid who loves Fuwa Fuwa Cafe. A huge otaku for anime and video games, she talks really fast when she’s gushing about the things she loves, and often splurges on merch without thinking whenever she visits an anime shop. A little clumsy, but works hard every day to become the cute maid she’s always wanted to be.

Notable Roles:

Masaki (Mayonaka Punch)
Lene Aurousseau (I’m in Love with the Villainess)
Ikuyo Kita (Bocchi the Rock!)
Vladilena Milizé (86)
“Thanks for hanging out with me today, Manager! ☆”

Miyu (VA: Ayasa Itou)

A game otaku and gyaru with a big appetite. Loves both eating and cooking, and apparently really enjoys serving her cooking to customers at Fuwa Fuwa Cafe. Is actually Shiro’s friend on the online game Magic Angel, so they knew each other before actually meeting in real life.

Notable Roles:

Angelico Fra (Delico’s Nursery)
Kaoruko Hanayagi (Revue Starlight)
Arisa Ichigaya (BanG Dream! Girls Band Party!)
“I am the Slayer of the False God, the Queen of the Kingdom of Darkness, the All-Seeing Oracle, the Guardian of All Dreams—”

Favna (VA: Sayumi Suzushiro)

A mysterious girl dressed in gothic Lolita fashion. Speaks in riddles and demands the protagonist become her familiar. She sometimes accidentally drops the edgy act when she’s taken by surprise though, so maybe she’s just got a serious case of chuunibyou…?

Notable Roles:

Ayako (The Elusive Samurai)
Nijika Ijichi (Bocchi the Rock!)
Satono Crown (Uma Musume Pretty Derby)
Kylie (The Magnificent Kotobuki)
“Ya want a thrivin’ business? That there sounds like a job for our shrine!”

Honoka (VA: Yui Ishikawa)

A girl with a Kansaiben dialect who works as a shrine maiden at her family shrine. Practically in charge of the shrine, she is reliable and very good at handling money! Is actually a doujin author…?
Notable Roles:

Elise (Doctor Elise)
Saku Fukuzawa (The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today)
Violet Evergarden (Violet Evergarden)
Mikasa Ackerman (Attack on Titan)
Collaborating with Real Stores in Nipponbashi…
and Other Indies!

Since Maid Cafe on Electric Street is a leisurely maid cafe adventure set in Nipponbashi, Osaka, we have collaborated with several stores that you can find both in-game and in real-life Nipponbashi! Of course, you can shop and eat at these places just like you can at the real ones.

What’s more, we have also collaborated with several indie games. You can collect merchandise of different indie games by buying them from capsule toy machines and stores!

More collaboration details are announced on the developer’s official X (former Twitter) account as well as in the Steam community news, so keep an eye out for that!

About PLAYISM:
There are games created by one person, or by small teams, simply because the creators wanted to. They are created because of the passion these people hold towards their art. This passion is not something that can be imitated with huge budgets and large teams. These are the games that we have supported for almost a decade. These, are Indie Games.

PLAYISM has, from the very beginning, been driven to deliver these games to as many players as possible. We began by creating a platform from which we could distribute indie games. From there we started localizing into multiple languages to overcome borders and then expanding into Steam and Console platforms.

Our hope, is for all gamers to play as many indie games as they can.
