Medion, Germany’s leading laptop and desktop manufacturer, today launches Iconic Arcade, a brand-new system that allows you to play classic games using modern technology.

Iconic Arcade will be showcased and playable at Medion’s stand in hall 10.1, booth C-059-B-050 at Gamescom 2023 in Cologne, Germany this August 23rd to 27th, offering true retro-gaming enthusiasts a chance to get a sneak peek at the future of retro gaming.

Iconic Arcade stands out due to its clever use of the Raspberry Pi single board computer. While regular arcades are often limited to one or two titles of the same franchise per machine, the use of the most recent Raspberry Pi 4 allows players of Iconic Arcade to install a vast array of classic arcade games. This way, players are not just tied to a game of Pacman, Streetfighter II or Space Invaders, but can easily switch to many other iconic titles from the 80s and 90s.

After following the seamless, effortlessly easy setup process, players can download and install their preferred operating system, from third-party providers such as Batocera, Retro Pie or Recalbox. While some of these operating systems come with a pre-loaded selection of games,we understand that some gamers may be looking for more.

This is where the magic of the Raspberry Pi comes in once again: players can explore, purchase, and install more retro games from their favorite online stores, allowing for countless possibilities and endless hours of fun. And no need to worry about difficult mapping of keys: all key inputs have been taken care of, regardless of which of the over 1000 available games you decide to give a go.

What sets Iconic Arcade apart is its clever and technologically advanced design. Some examples of this include the slightly larger than usual 21” full HD screen, the modern USB ports, and the micro-SD card slot. Not only is the Iconic Arcade true to the original 80s look, but the remarkable 3-in-1 system allows its users to effortlessly transform it from an arcade cabinet into its tabletop form.

Want to take it on the go with you? Simply slide out the console panel and hook it up to any monitor or TV through its HDMI port, and you’re good to go!
