Press release:
Gateshead, United Kingdom – April 11th, 2024.
The Gateshead-based (the UK) indie games publisher Coatsink and Canada-based indie games developer Bunnyhug, are today very glad and excited to announce that their fishing RPG “Moonglow Bay”, is now available for Playstation (PS5 and the PS4 via PSN) and the Nintendo Switch (via the Nintendo Eshop) via digital stores.
The game launches with the free Picture Perfect update, also available today on PC and Xbox, introducing a new camera mode, a brand new questline and new decorations to Thunderful, Coatsink and Bunnyhug’s cosy fishing RPG.
What critics are saying
“The…gentle yet solemn storytelling…is delightful” – Polygon
“…watching the town slowly come back to life…is beautiful” – Rock Paper Shotgun
“…a genuinely moving and surprisingly feel-good tale” – God Is A Geek
In Moonglow Bay, you play as a rookie angler, struggling to fulfil your partner’s final wish, while the town around you attempts to keep afloat in the face of impending bankruptcy. With only a journal and rod in hand, you must explore the furthest reaches of the ocean to uncover the secrets of Moonglow Bay.
Catch fish, cook your haul or show it off at the local aquarium, encounter mythical monsters, upgrade your ship, restore the town and build relationships by helping the locals, either alone, or via drop-in local co-op.
With the new Picture Perfect update, available today on all platforms, you can now gain a whole new perspective on Moonglow Bay with a camera mode that will let you see things from your character’s point of view.
The camera is tied to a new questline that starts with you discovering and repairing it, before you are drawn into a mystery where you will help uncover the skeleton of a long lost sea creature, putting together its bones to figure out its legend. The update will also allow you to decorate your shabby shop, brightening it up with decorations and seating for your customers.
“We’re unbelievably excited to bring Moonglow Bay to new audiences on Switch and Playstation today” said creative director Zach Soares.
“We’re also happy to be able to provide something new for fans on PC and Xbox with our free Picture Perfect update, giving them a fun new quest to delve into, along with a cool camera and some fun decorations!”
