The Bordeaux-based (France) independent video game development studio Shiro Games, are today very happy and proud to announce that ‘Northgard’ (the critically acclaimed Viking strategy game with more than 5MM copies sold) is getting a Definitive Edition.

That’s right! Because ‘Northgard: Definitive Edition’ is coming to PC via Steam on December 4th, 2025

Northgard, the critically acclaimed Viking strategy game with more than 5MM copies sold from developer Shiro Games, forges a new path with the reveal of the game’s Definitive Edition, launching on PC via Steam on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025.

Northgard: Definitive Edition includes the base game, the new Valhalla biome, as well as the Bifrost biomes now available for PvE and PvP play. Enjoy key enhancements to the original game including a significant overhaul of the shop including new items to browse, graphical improvements for select units, and an in-game gallery featuring alternate artwork, concept art, alpha and beta visuals, and more.

Experience the full campaign from the Cross of Vidar expansion pack, dominating the frey with Neustria – Clan of the Lion. Additionally, choose to brave unsettled lands with the first three clans ever released for Northgard: Sváfnir – Clan of the Snake, Nidhogg – Clan of the Dragon, and Svardilfari – Clan of the Horse. Finally, pore over a beautiful digital artbook in between battles, all included for free with the Definitive Edition launch.

Lead a mighty clan from the ravages of Ragnarok, and set out into the untold lands of Northgard to find a new home. Establish a colony on territory occupied by ravenous beasts and hostile spirits. Expand the clan’s foothold and carefully tend to its needs by building production and defensive structures. Explore ancient barrows and claim fertile grounds for the clan – but watch out for rival factions who are out to conquer this untamed realm for themselves!
