Press release:
17 SEPTEMBER 2020 – Developer Ogre Pixel are delighted to launch the Kickstarter campaign for their game “Lonesome Village“, which is targeted for both Nintendo Switch and PC. To celebrate, Ogre Pixel have released a special Kickstarter demo for the game.

Lonesome Village is a cosy RPG adventure, taking place in a formerly sleepy town in dire need of help. The animal villagers are trying to return to life as normal following a calamitous event which wiped out their homes. And the less said about the mysterious tower which has appeared just outside of town, the better.

Players will take on the role of Wes, a wandering coyote who happens upon the town and decides to investigate these strange happenings further. Along the way, they’ll discover mysterious cultists, a vast conspiracy, villagers who need rescuing, and puzzles which need unpuzzling.

Inspired by both classic RPGs with rich puzzles and unique dungeons like The Legend of Zelda series, and life sims like Animal Crossing, Lonesome isn’t just a town that needs saving, but a home which needs rebuilding.

Lonesome Village is midway through development, but Ogre Pixel are seeking community backing of $20,000 through Kickstarter in order to fund the rest of the development process until the launch in September 2021. A demo is currently available for potential backers to try.

No stranger to game development, Ogre Pixel has a strong pedigree in creating exciting worlds for players to enjoy. Their title Jumper Jon was one of the first games offered on Apple Arcade, and the very first Apple Arcade game developed by a Mexican team.

“Lonesome Village has been an adventure made with great love and passion during the last 7 months, and this process has been an amazing experience. However, there is still a lot of work to do and this is why we need your help.” said Ogre Pixel game director Steve Durán.

“Help us bring this adventure to life by supporting us on Kickstarter, so we can help Wes rescue the villagers and restore peace in Lonesome Village.

The Lonesome Village Kickstarter is now live, with pledges including the game starting at $13 (around £10 / €11). A special Kickstarter demo of the game is now available to play.
