Press release:
We’re excited to announce that we’ll release the official soundtrack to DONTNOD’s newest Action-RPG Vampyr by BAFTA-Nominee & IFMCA award-winning composer Olivier Derivière on audiophile 180g double vinyl and CD this month. The vinyl and CD will start shipping in late October and are now up for pre-order (limited LP bundles and signed CDs available while stocks last).
Olivier Derivière’s haunting cinematic-meets-industrial score will be available on limited edition translucent red w/ black smoke 180g vinyl (BSR exclusive) and translucent red w/ black splatter 180 vinyl (US retail exclusive) and each variant comes in an exclusive deluxe gatefold sleeve with original artwork by DONTNOD’s concept artist Florent Auguy and additional layout by Dane Baudoin.
All songs got remastered for vinyl by Christian Bethge at RAMA Tonstudio. The vinyl includes three bonus tracks, is housed in poly-lined black inner sleeves and comes with a free download code for the digital album.
“Vampyr is one of the few opportunities for a composer to explore an instrument. I spent a lot of time with Eric Maria Couturier to create this very peculiar sound with a cello and I think his performance is beyond anything I wished. I am very grateful to have Black Screen Records releasing this vinyl edition as it feels even more genuine to its unique sounding. I will let you embrace the darkness but don’t forget to enjoy life.” – Olivier Derivière
ABOUT THE GAME:
Vampyr is an action role-playing video game developed by DONTNOD Entertainment (Life is Strange, Life is Strange 2, Remember Me) and published by Focus Home Interactive.
London, 1918. You are newly-turned Vampyr Dr. Jonathan Reid. As a doctor, you must find a cure to save the city’s flu-ravaged citizens. As a Vampyr, you are cursed to feed on those you vowed to heal. Will you embrace the monster within? Survive and fight against Vampyr hunters, undead skals, and other supernatural creatures. Use your unholy powers to manipulate and delve into the lives of those around you, to decide who will be your next victim. Struggle to live with your decisions… your actions will save or doom London.
Vampyr takes place after the Great War, in 1918 London. The city has been devastated by conflict, and the Spanish Flu is spreading rapidly among its citizens. While the British government struggles to rebuild the country, secretive groups led by supernatural beings are pulling strings with growing influence. Ancient vampire societies, occult scholars and relentless vampire hunters all compete for dominance in a shadowy conflict lasting a millennia. www.vampyr-game.com
