Press release:
7th August 2023.
The indie games developer Fiction Factory Games (the developers of the beloved visual novel series “Arcade Spirits”) are today super happy and excited to announce that their comic book-like VN/adventure game “Penny Larceny: Gig Economy Supervillain”, is now available for PC via Steam.
Tthe game follows the life of Penny, an aspiring supervillain who’s struggling to leave a mark on the criminal underworld. Things change after Penny snatches access to Crimr, an exclusive gig-economy service where henchpersons can meet supervillains and help them with their nefarious plans.
Armed with this new opportunity, you will set forth on a series of hectic adventures as you meet a diverse cast of romanceable heroes and villains, pull off daring heists across a changing city, discover conspiracies that involve some of the world’s richest and most powerful people, pet cats, and get the chance to destroy capitalism! Will you change the world or decide to become its absolute ruler?
With multiple endings to discover and a gigaverse of timelines to traverse Penny Larceny – Gig Economy Supervillain features seven fantastic capers for players to complete. The game also features a jaunty electro-jazz soundtrack, with tracks from acclaimed composers Slide20XX (Calico, Steven Universe) and Alice Knows Karate.
Accessibility and inclusivity remain the cornerstones of all Fiction Factory Games’ titles, as Penny Larceny fully embodies the play-it-your-way philosophy. Customize your appearance, choose your preferred alias and pronouns, and decide which level of romance and naughtiness you’re comfortable with.
The game’s text-to-speech feature, the inclusion of OpenDyslexia fonts, and a number of other UX options also make Penny Larceny one of the most accessible Visual Novels on the market.
Commenting on the release of the game, Fiction Factory Games Director Stefan Gagne said “Penny Larceny represents something new for us — an open-fire social satire with fun characters occupying a moral grey zone. We’re hopeful it’ll resonate with an audience currently enduring the ongoing ‘fun’ of the 21st century.”
