PITTSBURGH—July 2, 2026—The Indie Premier’s debut showcase went live last night, kicking off on the official Indie Premier YouTube channel with a broadcast that streamed the hybrid event’s first wave of games to audiences around the world. The premiere marks the official launch of The Indie Premier, a showcase built to connect indie developers with players hungry to discover their next favorite game.

Presented in partnership with Unity PGH and Mega Cat Studios, the showcase pulled together a carefully curated lineup of 50 must-play upcoming indies. The broadcast gave viewers an early look at the games from fan-favorite publishers and studios, including Devolver Digital, Raw Fury, Daedalic, 11 Bit Studios, Team17, Acclaim, Retroware, and more.

Many of the featured games will be playable throughout The Indie Premier’s physical event, which kicks off today and runs through July 5 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, PA.

AWARDS & RECOGNITION

Featured participants will compete for both physical trophies and digital award laurels across four prestigious categories:

Grand Indie Champ — Honoring the standout title of the showcase across all dimensions.

Gameplay Mastery — Recognizing exceptional mechanics, design, and player experience.

Visual Virtuoso — Celebrating outstanding artistry, aesthetics, and visual design.

Master Mix Award — Awarded for excellence in audio design, sound, and music.

A panel of judges comprising prominent indie game figures and influencers will evaluate the field, with winners announced on the official Indie Premier YouTube channel.
