The Arkhangelsk-based (Russia) indie games developer Dmitrii Batov are today very happy and excited to announce that his 2D action-adventure metroidvania “The Little Brave“, is now available for PC via Steam.

The Little Brave is a captivating game that follows Keely, a young boy on a quest to uncover the lost magic of his world. Once vibrant with mystical energy, the land fell into ruin under a terrible curse, and now Keely must venture into the forbidden lands to reveal its long-buried secrets.

Armed with melee weapons, ranged attacks, and mythic magic, Keely must battle sinister enemies, solve intricate puzzles, and navigate treacherous traps. Along the way, he faces mighty wardens and uncovers the last remnants of magic, each step bringing him closer to the truth of the legendary past.

As his courage grows, Keely must find and rescue his younger sister, Weyka, while preparing to face the monstrous force threatening the land. Every challenge shapes his fate, pushing him to either embrace his destiny as a hero or fall to the darkness that looms ahead.

About Dmitrii Batov
Dmitrii Batov is a certified professional programmer and independent solo game developer. He is also an illustrator, creating characters and artwork for his projects. The music for his game was composed by the talented Jose Mora-Jimenez, while the intro video was crafted by the skilled team at Chase A Cloud.

Dmitrii resides in a small northern settlement near Arkhangelsk, Russia, where winters are long and cold. He is passionate about games with captivating stories, memorable characters, and evocative music. Among his favorite titles are Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, Knights of the Old Republic, Mass Effect 1, Dragon Age: Origins, The Witcher 3, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and God of War (2018).

He began developing The Little Brave in October 2019, investing his personal savings into the project. To dedicate himself fully to the game’s creation, Dmitrii left his job and worked on the game full-time until 2022. When his savings ran out, he took on a job and continued developing the game during his spare time. Creating and publishing The Little Brave remains Dmitrii’s dream, and he pours all his time and energy into its realization. With support from friends and inspiration drawn from anime, movies, and games, he continues to move forward with determination and creativity.
