Warsaw, Poland. December 14th, 2022 –
The Warsaw-based (Poland) indie games publisher and developer Sonka today announced with great thrill and gladness that their 2XD psychological survival horror game “Holstin“, is coming to PC (via Steam) and consoles (PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch) sometime this year (2023).

Furthermore, Sonka has also just announced that they are going to release a playable demo for “Holstin” this January (the said demo will be released for PC via Steam at a later point in time this month). So keep your eyes open for that demo!

“Holstin” uses superior, unique 2XD rendering technology that allows the team to create real-time lighting in a pixel-art game.

“Holstin” is set in an eerie, isolated 90’s Polish lakeside town in which an ominous presence has slowly enveloped everything and everyone. A close colleague of yours came here, looking for answers to a newspaper story. But after a series of incoherent and troubling messages, all contact was lost. Now you need to venture into this psyche-shattering town to find out the truth and the fate of your friend. The game is heavily inspired by the Resident Evil and Silent Hill series with the narrative team aiming for a darker Twin Peaks feel.

A Steam demo will be released in January 2023. “Holstin” will have full English and Polish voice acting and will be coming to PC and console sometime in 2023.
