Every legend has its counter-legend, as light has its counter-legend to darkness. The legend of the founding of England is well known: a lord pulled a sword out of a stone and became king.

The sword was called Excalibur, and “Dark Life Excalibur”, the new video game for PS5 and Steam developed by Zero Studios, is the story of its forging.

A very dark and very souls story, by the way. Because it is not a tale with round tables, noble knights and sweet damsels, precisely. No, no. Listen to what we are going to tell you, but, preventively, add this game to your PlayStation Store and Steam Wishlist.

As we told you, Dark Life Excalibur is about to be released, and you can already add it to your Wishlist. So what’s it about? It’s a third-person action game that we can classify in the genre of epic fantasy rather beast (note the beast, we’ll tell you later). Its developers do not hide a great devotion to Hidetaka Miyazaki, so they wanted to bring their personal version of Dark Souls on a story with European foundational dyes.

It is not Arthur who will wield this Excalibur, but Aron, a human who must face York, the king of the giants, who has destroyed everything that gave meaning to his life. In order to defeat his hosts, who are quite unpleasant, he will have to forge a unique sword. And just look if Aron takes it seriously, it turns out that what he forges is Excalibur, a weapon that centuries later will gain the fame we know.

Because how do you forge a sword like Excalibur? To make such a beastly thing you need good raw material. Steel? No, that’s for wimps! The material of Excalibur is beastliness! It must be said that Aron is already equipped with a good dose of beastliness from his cradle.

But he will have to increase it by disemboweling more and more horrifying creatures, at the heart of which is bestiality, because this is the currency of this world. Fragments of bestiality buy level upgrades or improvements for your sword. Thanks to this, and other collectible items such as lightning, fire or runes, you can customize the four parts of your sword and improve Aron’s bloody abilities.

To achieve all this you have to explore a vast world divided into zones with ugly, uglier and super ugly enemies, mini-bosses that will make you think “if this is the mini how will be the normal” and bosses with which to bite the dust again and again. A spill of blood, action, adrenaline… and bestiality, above all bestiality.
