Press release:
14th November 2025 – It’s 2003.
The consoles hum, the communities buzz, and friendships form through a shared passion for video games. That moment in time returns today as Kinmoku brings the acclaimed narrative adventure VIDEOVERSE to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
VIDEOVERSE is an emotionally resonant narrative adventure that explores the bonds between identity, connectivity, and technology, set in an alternative 2003 when the Kinmoku Shark gaming system and its online platform, Videoverse, were at their peak.
As Emmett, a devoted young fan of the Kinmoku Shark, players will navigate bustling online spaces, lose themselves in the fandom for the popular RPG Feudal Fantasy, and slowly unravel the corporate mysteries lurking behind their beloved console.
Drawing inspiration from MSN Messenger, MySpace, and Nintendo’s Miiverse, VIDEOVERSE transports you to an era of bygone digital spaces and their influence on some of our most cherished bonds, reinforced with its 1-bit pixel art style and immersive soundtrack from Clark Aboud (Slay the Spire, Kind Words).
The console ports, published by Ratalaika Games, includes all post-PC launch additions such as an enhanced interface and art gallery, alongside new enhancements, including Japanese localisation.
Building on the success of One Night Stand, VIDEOVERSE is the most recent adventure from renowned developer Lucy Blundell, otherwise known as Kinmoku. Following a critically praised debut on PC, the game now comes to consoles, bringing its heartfelt story of connection, creativity, and community to an even wider audience.
Talking about the release, Blundell said: “Even if you weren’t a teenager during the early days of the internet, VIDEOVERSE is a timeless story that’s been enjoyed by a wide range of players, and I’m so excited more people will now be able to play it on consoles! Keep an eye out for UncleFromKinmoku! ^_- ”
