Press release:
Nov 3rd 2022.
The Trondheim-based (Norge) indie games developer Breach VR today announced with great happiness and excitement that their adorable VR puzzle-platformer “Kartoffl” (which tasks players with guiding an adorable group of spuds through an increasingly difficult series of levels), is now available via Steam VR and Meta Quest.

At last, you’ll be able to do your part in guiding these adorable spuds through increasingly challenging levels in this cute lemmings-inspired puzzle-platformer. With a level of immersion that only VR can provide, you can get up close and personal with these little fellows as you place platforms, jump pads, fans, and more to ensure they reach their destination safely.

Whether seated (for couch potatoes), standing, or playing in full-room scale VR – you can take on each level in comfort as Kartoffl’s intuitive, easy to understand, and snappy interface puts you at the center of the action.

The adorable appearance of Kartoffl is deceptive – as the game provides genuine challenges to chip away at as you progress through 60 increasingly difficult levels and you can choose to take on the extra challenge of collecting stars that are littered through each level.

The style, soundtrack, use of VR and cute potato heroes come together in Kartoffl to produce a new, unique, and truly special game. Watching the spuds cartoonishly teeter, tater, and tumble as they encounter obstacles in their path, you will find yourself laughing even in the face of failure.

Martin Sivertsen, CTO and Creative Director at Breach VR said:
“Making Kartoffl has been so much fun for all of us here at Breach, and we’re thrilled to finally be able to release our little puzzle adventure for VR players everywhere to enjoy.“

Kartoffl is now available through the Meta Quest Store, Oculus Rift Store, and on Steam for $14.99.

About Kartoffl
The spuds are on the run – and they need your help! There’s no questioning their adorable cuteness, but their intelligence is another matter, as they carelessly stumble to their demise unless you place the correct devices in their path.

Partially inspired by oldschool Amiga classics such as Lemmings and Pipe Mania, the base premise of Kartoffl is simple: help the spuds get safely from point A to point B. The visual style is playful and full of character, while gameplay interactions are intuitive and snappy.

Playable in full room scale VR, standing or seated, Kartoffl offers a fresh style of gameplay where hectic, time-sensitive puzzle mechanics are fused with the unique affordance of VR to put you close-up in the middle of the action.

Now go save those spuds!
