We should never forget that there are people who suffer from impossible forgetfulness. We should never forget that your grandfather or your mother may one day no longer remember your face.

We should never forget the ravages of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease. And so that we never forget, today “Inner Ashes” is launched. A game with which Calathea Game Studio seeks to give visibility to this disease and raise awareness among players about a social problem that stalks us all as we grow older.

As of today, you can already find it in the digital stores for PC, PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox, with the collaboration of Selecta Play.

And how can a video game take on a mission as difficult and courageous as telling what Alzheimer’s disease is and how it is experienced? Well, by putting you in the shoes of someone who has just been diagnosed with this degenerative disease. In “Inner Ashes” you will be Henry, but you don’t remember much anymore. Your memory is fading like a dandelion in the wind. And, with it, your life is faltering.

That’s when you receive a letter from your daughter, Enid, which will bring you the most important mission of your life: to recover and sort out the memories that explain your relationship and your breakup with her.

“Inner Ashes” proposes a first-person adventure in which the player visits peaceful and melancholic dreamlike scenarios, where he will have to explore, solve puzzles and complete collectibles. All the tests are inspired by the obstacles that an Alzheimer’s patient overcomes in his daily life.

In “Inner Ashes” everything is designed to move you, from its narrative to its art direction, through its carefully crafted soundtrack. In this way you manage to connect with Henry and his story, so that you access an experience of discovery and make it your own.

There are very few games like “Inner Ashes”. But those that exist deserve a space in your memory. Don’t miss it, and above all don’t forget it.
