SEATTLE – August 18, 2020 – Materia Collective is thrilled to make available the “Ary and the Secret of Seasons” (Original Game Soundtrack) by composer Marcus Hedges.

Listeners will accompany Ary on an orchestral adventure through the world of Valdi, from the ethereal tones of the “Dome of Seasons,” to the dissonant drones of “The Mine,” this score explores all corners of Valdi’s map in a thematically driven, emotional way. The Ary and the Secret of Seasons (Original Game Soundtrack) is available today on all platforms:

“Even though this is the first game of the Ary franchise, it feels wildly nostalgic,” comments Hedges.

“One of the main things I wanted for the music was for the player to come away from the game whistling or humming at least one of the themes. That’s like a dream come true for me as a composer. It was really important to me that I anchored each theme/vibe to the wonderfully designed towns and regions and their backstories. Through this, I hope that players will be able to hear the music, perhaps even in a different setting away from the game, and have it bring back memories of the respective location and/or part of the story.”

Ary and the Secret of Seasons is an award-winning adventure game following a young girl named Aryelle, or Ary, as she journeys across the great world of Valdi.
By becoming the Guardian of Winter, Ary gains the ability to manipulate the seasons around her. Ary will learn to control the seasons and use them to defeat enemies, overcome obstacles, and solve complex puzzles on her adventure across Valdi.

About Marcus Hedges
Marcus Hedges is a British composer based in Brighton, UK. He is known for his exciting orchestral videogame arrangements under the pseudonym “The Marcus Hedges Trend Orchestra,” where he explores the nostalgia that can be experienced when listening to videogame music in an orchestral setting so that gamers can “relive their adventures through music.”

Marcus has also composed for a range of mediums but places a focus on videogames. Most recently he composed the score for Ary and the Secret of Seasons and is currently working on an unannounced title. His scores are thematically charged and emotionally driven creating a strong link with the story-telling nature of each game.
