The Lahore-based (Pakistan) indie games publisher Ashen Studios and indie games developer Shadow Owl Studios, are today very happy and excited to announce that their atmospheric horror exploration game “Liminalcore“, is now available for PC via Steam.

A downloadable demo version of the game is also available.

Liminalcore is an immersive game where players navigate eerie, in-between worlds like the Poolrooms, blending reality and nightmare. As you explore, you’ll uncover fragments of a forgotten past and confront unsettling memories. The deeper you descend, the more you lose yourself, culminating in a final journey into Hell.

The gameplay emphasizes atmosphere over combat, with rare entities and unsettling emptiness. Players can toggle a VHS filter for a distorted, analog horror aesthetic. The goal is to piece together the protagonist’s life and death by exploring haunting locations and uncovering hidden memories.

Players will visit four locations: the reflective Poolrooms, a memory-laden space, the claustrophobic Infinite Stairs, and finally, Hell. Inspired by Jared Pike’s Poolrooms and the Backrooms mythos, Liminalcore makes the familiar disturbingly unfamiliar as players descend into the unknown.
