Press release:
3 MAY 2018 — Developer Iron Monkey today launches Lazaretto – an atmospheric, slow-burning horror game – on the App Store. An immersive first-person survival horror game and the first chapter of a planned multi-part experience, Lazaretto puts players in the shoes of an urban explorer – whose investigation of an abandoned quarantine island turns into a strange, surreal and dangerous adventure.
Originally released via Steam and now reimagined for mobile and tablet devices, Lazaretto is a slow-burning, combat-free experience. Grab your headphones, and get ready for the most atmospheric horror game on iOS!
Paul Osier of Iron Monkey, the creator of Lazaretto, said: “A few years ago, I had a daily train commute and really wanted to play a genuinely atmospheric mobile horror game. But I struggled to find one. As such, the team and I set about planning our perfect horror game for on the move – one filled with tension, interesting storytelling and strong production values, but streamlined enough to play in shorter bursts.”
He added: “PC gamers can be very outspoken and their feedback guided us to make dozens of revisions and improvements. The biggest improvement we made was the pacing. It’s much more streamlined now – and that works out great for mobile players.”
Lazaretto: Chapter One is available now via the App Store, priced at $3.99 (with an initial launch discount to $2.99).
Features:
– Down the rabbit hole – Get lost in the mystery of a story and a world in which not everything can be explained…
– Combat-free gameplay – Armed with only a flashlight, you’ll need to use your wits to avoid dangerous adversaries
– Horrifying creatures – Modelled by Fabrizio Bortolussi (District 9, Silent Hill) and animated by Dhaval Soni (GTA V)
– Immersive audio – Be sure to pack your headphones: the decaying environment coupled by eerie sound design makes this the most atmospheric horror game on iOS!
