PRISMATIKA and QCF Design today announce that following the successful launch of “Desktop Dungeons: Rewind“, the original award-winning “Desktop Dungeons” is currently available to download, own and keep completely free of charge via Steam.

The offer is available until Tuesday, April 25 at 9am PDT / 12pm EDT / 5pm BST / 6pm CEST.

Originally launched in 2013 to critical and community acclaim, Desktop Dungeons is a moreish, quick-play puzzle roguelike in which players explore randomly generated dark, dank and dangerous dungeons with a cast of disposable adventurers. Those brave, swift, smart – and let’s face it – lucky enough, might just make it home with pockets bursting full of loot. During its development, the game picked-up an award for Excellence in Design at the Independent Games Festival Awards in 2011.

A lovingly crafted, three-dimensional remake, Desktop Dungeons: Rewind launched yesterday – Tuesday, April 18 – via Steam and Humble. It features everything that earned the original its cult following including innovative game design, hundreds of hours of content, daily online challenges, an amazing soundtrack by Danny Baranowsky and Grant Kirkhope, all the DLC, and more.

The titular new Rewind system also means that a swift death doesn’t have to be the end, giving explorers a chance to replay a dungeon from an earlier point, experiment with different strategies and defeat monsters in all new ways.

Desktop Dungeons: Rewind is now available for PC via Steam and Humble with a temporary 15% launch discount.
