Fierce PC/VR asymmetrical local fighting action pits PC heroes against a brutal boss in VR.

Press release:
Oulu, Finland — April 6, 2018 — Independent developer, Evocat Games, today announced that Nemesis Realms, sequel to the award-winning Nemesis Perspective, is stepping out from Steam Early Access into a full commercial launch for PC and VR. Nemesis Realms reinvents the local multiplayer experience by pitting a team of heroes, playing on PC, against a big bad boss, controlled by a player in VR on Oculus Rift, HTC Vive or Windows Mixed Reality, in the ultimate battle where strategy and strength collide.

“Nemesis Realms brings out the multiplayer party side of the seemingly isolated VR experience,” said Leevi Pääkkönen, CEO of Evocat Games. “Coming out of Early Access the game is more optimized and polished, and gives players an additional action-packed stage. Based on community feedback during Early Access we’ve also added in a pool of custom variables and power-ups so players can scale the scope and length of their battles the way they want.”

Nemesis Realms is a local fighting party game played with up to 5 people, one of which takes on the role of a huge boss monster in VR while the other gamers play as smaller hero characters with regular controllers, working together to defeat the boss. Featuring three stages, each with a unique hero-boss pairing, the game takes players through diverse environments, every one featuring different, unique gameplay mechanics, where they can use custom variables and power-ups to strategically swing the battle in their favor.

The first environment transports players to a fantasy mountaintop with a lake and waterfalls. Using straightforward VR mechanics, the boss must punch and smack the nimble heroes swarming around him from every angle, while they hack and slash at the boss using melee attacks and agile, real time combat tactics.

The second stage is located inside an old, dark cathedral, wherein the VR player takes control of a three-headed dragon which destroys the environment and performs close combat attacks. The heroes in this stage move with a combination of 2D platformer mechanics and action combat, dashing and diving to avoid the deadly heads while performing close and ranged attacks to bring down the beast.

The third scenario transports the players to space where the heroes must use map objectives, such as laser turrets, to defeat the boss, who is armed with powerful spells. Winged champions dodge magical attacks by flying around and are able to alter time as well as create protective barriers.
