Press release:
Unreliable Narrators and Gambit Digital announce that The Caribou Trail is now available on Steam Epic Games Store for $12.99 USD.
The game was originally announced to release simultaneously on PlayStation 5, but the PS5 version will now launch on July 7, 2026. This decision comes following the discovery of a critical issue in the current PS5 build that could not be resolved in time for launch. As the team’s priority is to deliver the best possible experience to players, the decision was made to postpone the PS5 release.
Set during the Gallipoli campaign of 1915, The Caribou Trail places players in the role of a young soldier from Newfoundland, navigating an unfamiliar war far from home.
Focusing on survival, memory, and human connection, the game offers a narrative-driven experience designed to immerse players in one of the First World War’s most overlooked fronts.¨
A Different Perspective on War
Rather than focusing on combat, The Caribou Trail explores what it meant to endure the war, moment by moment.
Blending grounded historical storytelling with elements of folklore and psychological unease, the game draws from real testimonies to tell a deeply human story of friendship, resilience, and loss.
