The Thailand-based indie games developer today announced with great delight and excitement that they have just launched a Kickstarter campaign for their upcoming retro-like precision platformer “Cyjin: The Cyborg Ninja“.

And to celebrate the occasion, a brand-new demo is now available for “Cyjin: The Cyborg Ninja” via Steam and itch.io.

Cyjiin is a challenging new platformer with a unique twist – the game is controlled using just a mouse. Players will experience a completely fresh take on the precision platformer genre, where movement, direction and jumping are all controlled by a twitch or a click of the mouse.

Inspired by classic challenging games of the genre such as Super Meat Boy and Celeste, Cyjin puts players in control of the titular hero – a cyborg ninja who was bested in a great battle by his evil arch nemesis The Shōgun, and thrown deep into the robot scrapyard in the underbelly of his cyberpunk city.

Cyjin follows the tale of our hero as he attempts to battle his way up through The Metropolis on his journey to stand and face The Shōgun once more – and exact his revenge.

Along the way, players will face perilous levels containing tough enemies, tricky traps and puzzles which will seriously put the reflexes of players to the test. Players will also need to harness every skill they’ve learned, in order to face unique and gripping boss battles at the end of each area.

Cyjin is midway through development, but Aiya Games are seeking community backing of HK$ 38,850 ($5,00 / £3,500) through Kickstarter in order to fund the rest of the development process until the launch in January 2022. Backers will receive a copy of the game at launch, plus extra goodies for higher tiers, ranging from digital soundtracks, to the option to include a pet in the game, to designing a boss!

Cyjin’s Kickstarter campaign is live now – players can back the campaign and receive a copy of the game from $15/£11. A special Kickstarter demo of the game is now available to play on Steam and Itch.
