Press release:
Toronto, Canada – March 9th: Capybara Games, the award-winning development studio behind Below, Grindstone and Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP has announced that their latest project, the short adventure Find Your Words, will launch in April. It will be available as a free game with an optional supporter edition to come later. A new trailer has been released at The Mix Showcase to celebrate the news.
In Find our Words, players explore a colorful summer camp as a child learning to communicate without speech. They will be able to trek through the scenic campgrounds brimming with wildlife, and build a community one friendship at a time.
As the game’s lush world unveils, they’ll collect symbols for their communication binder, understand that different combinations of symbols have unique meanings, and uncover new interactions and activities. Later, as friendships deepen, players will discover the lovable quirks of their camp friends.
The game is designed for all ages, for children to feel a sense of wonder and adults a sense of nostalgia. Players savor a breath of fresh air in small moments of play at the beach, strolling in the woods, and dancing with friends.
Find Your Words began as a passion project of two Capy dads bonding over their shared experience raising non-speaking children. It has been built with the feedback of speech language pathologists and AAC users.
Players can wishlist Find your Words on Steam, stay tuned for more details on Capybara Games’ Website, Bluesky and Youtube.
About Find your Words
Find Your Words was created by two long-time Capy developers and fathers, Jon Maur and Vic Nguyen. Inspired by their shared experience raising non-speaking kids, Find Your Words shines a light on how their children and others like them interact with the world.
Jon Maur headed up programming, writing, and design on Find Your Words. His credits include Grindstone, Below, Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery, and Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes.
Vic championed the art, visuals and design for Find Your Words. His credits include Grindstone, Super Time Force Ultra, Sound Shapes, and Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes.
Together, they have a combined 30 years of experience at CAPY. Their hope with Find Your Words is for players to learn more about the ways we connect beyond speech.
