Press release:
Toronto, Canada – April 8th – Capybara Games, the award-winning development studio behind Below, Grindstone and Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP is happy to announce their short communication adventure Find Your Words, is now available completely free on Steam (PC).

An optional supporter pack is also available for $4.99, and includes the game’s soundtrack and an adorable digital booklet full of printable activities such as a bird watching log journal.

Players can now channel their inner child and jump into Find Your Words – a colorful summer camp adventure where communication happens without words. Along the way, they’ll build a community by forging new friendships with a quirky cast of characters and exploring the scenic grounds of Camp Pals.

Designed for all ages – the game invites children to feel a sense of wonder and adults a sense of nostalgia. As the lush world unveils, players collect symbols for their communication binder, learn that different combinations of symbols have unique meanings, and uncover new interactions and activities waiting around every corner.

“Find Your Words started as a fun project to celebrate our boys and the journey that they both have been on to find their voices using symbols,” said co-creator Jon Maur.

Find Your Words has been built with the feedback of speech language pathologists and AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) users.

“We’re super proud of what we’ve built, but what we have is just a snapshot of AAC representation. We hope this sparks players to learn more about the different ways humans communicate,” said co-creator Vic Nyugen.

Capybara Games plans to explore making the game available in other languages later this year, as well as releasing on other platforms.

Players can download Find your Words for free on Steam and start exploring the summer camp immediately.

About Find your Words
Find Your Words was created by two long-time Capy developers and fathers, Jon Maur and Vic Nguyen. Inspired by their shared experience raising non-speaking kids, Find Your Words shines a light on how their children and others like them interact with the world.

Jon Maur headed up programming, writing, and design on Find Your Words. His credits include Grindstone, Below, Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery, and Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes.

Vic championed the art, visuals and design for Find Your Words. His credits include Grindstone, Super Time Force Ultra, Sound Shapes, and Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes.

Together, they have a combined 30 years of experience at CAPY. Their hope with Find Your Words is for players to learn more about the ways we connect beyond speech.
