Press release:
BORDEAUX, France – October 27, 2026 – Publisher Shiro Unlimited and developer Funday Games today launched Northgard Battlegrounds in Early Access on Steam. The city-building auto-battler set in the Viking world of Northgard is available now with a limited-time 10% discount.
Northgard creator Shiro Games co-developed the game with Funday Games, the studio behind Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor. Together they remix Northgard’s colony management and strategy mechanics. Players lead a Viking clan, build a village, amass gold, and earn the favor of the Norse gods, then send their warriors and mythic beasts into asynchronous PvP auto-battler rounds.
Each turn, players use collected resources to expand their territory, construct and upgrade buildings, and assign workers. They must balance immediate military strength against long-term growth, harnessing adjacency bonuses to build a productive settlement and an effective army. More than 100 Fate cards shape each strategy, grant powerful blessings, and summon legendary creatures against rival clans.
Northgard Battlegrounds is available now in Early Access for PC via Steam for $14.99 / €14.99 / £12.99. A 10% launch discount lowers the price to $13.49 / €13.49 / £11.69 for the first two weeks. Owners of Northgard, Backpack Battles or The King is Watching receive an additional 10% discount through Steam bundles.
Northgard Battlegrounds supports English, French, German, Spanish, Russian, and Simplified Chinese. More information is available on the game’s Steam page, the official Subreddit, and on X, Bluesky, Facebook, and Discord.
