Press release:
Karlsruhe, Germany (March 24 2026) | Gameforge is proud to announce that WildGuns is now live globally, marking the official return of its classic browser-based Wild West strategy MMO. Relaunched following sustained community demand, the frontier reopens as a fresh-start experience available instantly via browsers — no download required.

Players can begin their journey now at:

Play Now: https://sandbox-gf.gameforge.com/en-GB/play/wildguns

Choose Your Nation. Build Your Settlements. Conquer the Frontier.

WildGuns places players in control of developing settlements across a persistent Old West world, shaped by faction conflict and alliance warfare. Upon entering the game, players align with one of three rival nations — Native Americans, Cowboys, or Mexicans — each with unique unit paths and strategic dynamics.

At its core, WildGuns is a resource-driven MMORTS, where Wood, Clay, Iron, and Food fuel infrastructure, military expansion, and research progression. Rather than traditional character leveling, advancement is defined by territorial control, settlement development, and coordinated conquest.

Key gameplay systems include:

Settlement Expansion & Conquest – Found new settlements or overtake rival domains to expand influence.

Strategic Automated Combat – Launch raids, full assaults, or reinforcements across the world map.

Faction-Specific Units & Research Trees – Unlock troops and enhancements through Academy research.

Alliance Diplomacy & Warfare – Trade resources, coordinate campaigns, and negotiate treaties.

Artefact System – Deploy time-limited strategic buffs or debuffs that can alter regional power balances.

All servers launch as fresh-start worlds, ensuring competitive parity from day one.

A Community-Driven Return

WildGuns returns following years of player requests across social channels and support forums. As a result, Gameforge is approaching this relaunch as a community-driven revival experiment — preserving the original “soul” of the game while refining usability and pacing for contemporary audiences.

“All the core systems remain intact — expansion pressure, alliance politics, coordinated strikes,” said Andrew Peggs, Product Manager for Browser Games at Gameforge. “We deliberately kept the strategic weight of the original design while adjusting the speed to create a more responsive competitive environment. It feels authentic, but sharper.”

The revival follows Gameforge’s broader commitment to supporting long-standing online communities across its browser portfolio.

“We build games around communities that last,” said Tom Burck, Chief Officer of Customers and HR at Gameforge. “The demand to bring WildGuns back was clear. Seeing how strongly players respond when classic experiences return reinforced our belief that some frontiers are worth reopening — especially when the community is ready to ride again.”

Free-to-Play, Strategy-First

WildGuns is free-to-play and accessible directly in browser. Optional, premium currency (“Nuggets”) allows players to accelerate construction, enhance resource output, or unlock premium account benefits — while competitive success remains rooted in long-term planning, diplomacy, and tactical execution.

Gameforge has confirmed that additional content updates are under evaluation, based on community engagement, including potential expansions into more PvE-oriented frontier systems.
