The Utrecht-based (Holland) indie games developer Wikkl Works are today incredibly excited and happy to announce that their climbing and bouldering simulator game “New Heights“, is coming to PC via Steam Early Access this July (2023).

Furthermore, Wikkl Works has also just announced that they have released a brand-new demo “New Heights”. So be sure to give that one a try! (the said demo is avaible right now for PC via Steam EA).

“New Heights” invites players to experience the thrill of climbing from the comfort of their PCs as they ascend higher and higher onto real-world cliffs and structures. Master the moves, climb at incredible locations and feel the adrenaline rush as you reach the very top!

New Heights uses realistic, physics-based climbing mechanics to put players’ skills to the true test. Players will have to master balance, grip, positioning and more in order to expertly scale the many locations to be featured in the game. These realistic mechanics make it so that players really feel the struggle and importance of focus and concentration as they climb, just like they would if they were really there in the action.

As players progress through the game, they’ll be able to elevate the skills of their character as well as unlock new gear. Just like real life, practice makes perfect, and players will find that the more they climb, the more of an expert they become. Become a professional climber and take on other players in the community to see who can reach the highest spots on the leaderboards!

What makes this title different from other climbing games is that New Heights was created by real climbers with a passion for the outdoors and experience in game development. Using photogrammetry technology, the Wikkl Works team is able to scan real-world locations and transfer them into the game for players to enjoy. This means that, in the future, players may be able to climb structures they’ve only dreamed of!
