You know that super satisfying feeling that you get when you have things exactly how you like them? We think that there is nothing quite like it and we’re excited to say we have found some people who agree with us.

Secret Mode is excited to announce their new partnership with Canadian developer Max Inferno to bring the developers debut title “A Little to the Left” to PC (via Steam) and Nintendo Switch (via the Nintendo Eshop) in August 2022, with a mobile version to follow soon after.

Based in K’jipuktuk/Halifax, Nova Scotia, Max Inferno is the brainchild of creative power duo Annie Macmillan and Lukas Steinman who formed the studio in 2021 to create games that are inspired by daily life.

A Little to the Left is a cosy puzzle game that has you sort, stack, and organize household items into pleasing arrangements, but you’ll need to keep an eye out for a mischievous cat with an inclination for chaos. The idea for the title was born from Annie and Lukas’ experience during the pandemic and the calming influence they found tidying and sorting had on their lives at the time.

“We knew instantly after meeting Annie and Lukas that we had the same drive to expand and enhance the wonderful creativity and fun that was already in A Little to the Left” said James Schall, Director of Publishing at Secret Mode.

“The game is such a joyful experience, as was recognised with its E3 accolades last year, and I’m excited to share that with the world!”

We reached out to Annie and Lukas for a quote, but it seems not everything is as organised as their game. Annie and Lukas said “We had written a clever quote for this press release, but then our cat Rookie stomped across the keyboard and hit SEND. Luckily the amazing team at Secret Mode are cat people too and got a good chuckle out of it. So here it is again:”

A Little to the Left is already gaining indie buzz, receiving multiple accolades from its initial showing at E3 it found its way into PC Gamer’s ‘Top 15 indie games you shouldn’t miss’ and Rock Paper Shotgun gave it the coveted ‘Most Likely To Make Me Ashamed Of My Desk Award’
